The dam has finally burst. New York Times, October 29, 2026: “Several current and former law enforcement officials said an Obama-era investigation found some evidence that Ms. Omar had entered into a sham marriage with a man who may have been her brother"

The dam has finally burst.

A major, mainstream news source, which even the political left considers to be highly reliable, has finally acknowledged the existence of evidence that strongly suggests that Ilhan Omar married her own brother.

The New York Times just reported the following:

Original: https://www.nytimes.com/2026/10/29/us/immigration-fraud-claims-ilhan-omar.html

Archive: https://archive.ph/7LnKR

“Several current and former law enforcement officials said an Obama-era investigation found some evidence that Ms. Omar had entered into a sham marriage with a man who may have been her brother.”

That is huge.

The article goes on to say:

“The federal investigation of Representative Ilhan Omar is focused in part on whether she entered into a sham marriage in 2009 to help a man suspected of being her brother obtain a green card, according to current and former officials familiar with the matter.”

“The F.B.I. and Department of Homeland Security investigated the marriage in summer 2016, during the Obama administration, and found some evidence that it was fraudulent, current and former officials said.”

So this wasn’t a Trump era investigation. Instead, it happened when Obama was President.

That’s a very big deal, because liberals who have commented on the Trump investigation have repeatedly used it as justification to claim that it proved that Trump was racist, Islamophobic, sexist, and xenophobic.

Will those same liberals now make those same accusations against Obama?

Of course they won’t.

The articles later says:

“that case stalled chiefly because prosecutors concluded that the potential crime, a felony, fell outside a five-year statute of limitations”

So the statute of limitations has expired. But that’s OK, because a prosecution is not my primary interest. Instead, my primary interest is in knowing the truth. And there is no statute of limitations on knowing the truth.

Remember, for a decade, Democrats have been saying that this was nothing but a false conspiracy theory with no evidence.

But now we see that the Obama administration had discovered credible evidence, and launched an investigation.

That’s a major change.

The same New York Times article also states:

“Mr. Elmi had obtained a provisional two-year green card based on the marriage, two former officials said. But when he sought to make that status permanent, immigration officials requested additional evidence about the validity of the marriage. Instead of responding, Mr. Elmi left the United States and abandoned his green card petition, the officials said.”

A person who was innocent would not have abandoned his green card petition and left the U.S. Instead, he would have continued on with his green card petition, and stayed in the U.S.

The fact that he left the country instead of staying is a super big deal.

No innocent person would have done that.

Later, the article says:

“although Ms. Omar is an observant Muslim, the couple’s marriage certificate was signed by a Christian pastor rather than an imam”

Given how devote a follower of Islam Ilhan Omar is, this seems like a highly unusual thing to do if she wanted her second marriage to be real. Her first marriage did involve an imam. So why, other than fraud, would she use a Christian pastor for her second marriage? The only reason that I can think of for her doing that is that the second marriage was a fraud. Omar believes in Islamic law far more than she believes in U.S. law or Christian law, so she would have seen nothing morally wrong with using and abusing a Christian pastor to commit her fake marriage scam.

The article then states:

“In 2014 and 2015, when she was still legally married to Mr. Elmi, Ms. Omar filed joint federal tax returns with Mr. Hirsi, the campaign finance inquiry found.”

Well that’s another credible sign that her second marriage was fake.

Then the article says:

“Her marriage to Mr. Elmi was dissolved in court in 2017, and Ms. Omar said in a divorce filing at that time that they had been separated and had no contact for years.”

This also suggests that her second marriage was a scam.

Anyway, I’m really glad that the New York Times has published this article.

Man...first the story on the Alaska Senate, now this? Did the NY Times actually rediscover journalism?

If she’s lost the NYT, her days in politics and likely in the country are numbered, eh?

I’m so confused. Just the other day Obama told us this is completely politically motivated. He must have forgotten the truth

Not only immigration fraud and marriage fraud but identity theft (whose Socialist Security Number is she living under?), bank fraud, tax fraud, wire fraud, mortgage fraud and probably many other types of fraud.

My take? The only reason the NYT is reporting on it is because the Feds probably have Elmi (Omar) dead to rights, and something that high profile would have even the brain addled wondering what else the NYT covers up for the benefit of the Democrats/Left.

Administrative Immigration Actions (No Statute of Limitations):
.
There is no time limit for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) or immigration authorities to discover and act on fraud, willful misrepresentation, or false statements in prior applications (such as green card or asylum files). A finding of fraud or material misrepresentation is permanent, can be raised decades later, and makes a person permanently inadmissible or subject to removal/deportation

Zero used this knowledge to make sure she did his bidding. “Nice little hijab you have there. Be a shame if something were to happen to it. “

The wheels of justice are stuck in the mud. This case should have already been prosecuted.

Exactly. When you see stuff like this, you know that, in this situation, or in the Peltola/Sullivan matter, they faced being exposed for sitting on the information and, painfully, realized they had to cover it. In the Omar situation, I hope that means the DOJ will announce an indictment tomorrow. With Sullivan, I realize there may be no violation of Alaska statutes, but it smells to me like there could be federal conspiracy charges somewhere. Look at how long they prosecuted the fellow who created memes suggesting that Hillary voters should go to the polls the day after the election. That means at least nominally there must be federal statutes criminalizing efforts to confuse and frustrate voters. Looks like a good opportunity to apply them correctly.

This is a nothing burger.

The DOJ knew of this scandal 10 years ago. They did nothing then. And apart from the raid on her DC home, they’re doing nothing now.

Will authorities arrest her after the election? Even deport her?

I don’t think so.

I am not holding my breath about any sentencing or anything actually happening to Omar.

I think it is a bring out the vote op.

The DOJ knew of this scandal 10 years ago. They did nothing then.

They diligently turned it over to their globalist masters who used it to control her by blackmail.

The system isn't broken, it's working exactly as they want.
