Meet the manly men who want to remake the Democratic Party

Welcome to the 2026 midterms, a months-long contest to prove who is the manliest man. Oh, and to win control of the House and Senate.

You’ve seen the highlight reel: Abdul El-Sayed repeatedly calling his opponent a “beta.” James Talarico firing back against GOP attacks that he is “too low-T for Texas.” A sweaty Beau Bayh, running for Indiana secretary of state, pumping weights in a campaign ad — one of many candidates flaunting their physical strength to break through with voters.

Democrats are desperate to prove they’ve learned their lesson after men propelled Republicans to victory in 2024. They agree they need to talk to men again. But the chaotic midterm elections show they have very different ideas about how to do it.

Gone are the days in which traditional masculinity for Democrats was toxic. Now, it seems more like a campaign credential. The party is determined to shake off the reputation it has accrued among some voters for being woke and weak.

Meanwhile, the Republican model of masculinity that Democrats are responding to has been on full display. Sweaty, bloody men traded punches this summer in an eight-sided cage on the White House’s South Lawn. Vice President JD Vance implied Talarico is gay and creepy. President Donald Trump chimed in on the physiques of his frontline Republicans. (Apologies, Ken Paxton. Congratulations, Jon Husted.)

MAGA masculinity, a blend of entertainment and domination that Trump and his wing of the Republican Party have been offering up to American men for more than a decade, appears as influential as ever.

Sam Forstag thinks Democrats are overcomplicating things.

At a brewery this summer in downtown Bozeman, Montana, hours after the labor union convention that had brought him to town, the congressional candidate threw his hands up.

What kind of creep would pose on his mother's headstone? That's not manly. That's creepy.

Do they really think this works? Change the wrapper and we’ll then miraculously buy the message?

Sad. Well, its why the majority of women vote democrat. They just dont get tactics that generally work on them, genrally don’t work on men.

I’ll believe libtards are masculine when Obummer can throw a baseball and ride a Harley instead of a girly bicycle. Oh, and Buttigieg with fake breasts feeding a baby? Mamdani who can’t perform a single pushup? Boys who want to be girls? What a crock.

His name is actually Birch Bayh IV. With that name you have to give him the edge. And good on the democrats for being trainable. Early forays into recruiting straight, white, normal guys, I.e., Tim Walz and Graham Platner, didn’t go very well

As long as Hollywood is labeled as very pro Democrat and anti-Republican, people likes James Talarico will still have problems with MAGA men. Just look at the Odyssey movie. Critics praise the movie even though the movie changed the perception of Odysseus being a hero for ending the 10 year Trojan war to someone suffering from guilt about how the Trojan war ended. Fans will say Hollywood does it again. As long as the public sees Hollywood as firmly linked to the Democrat party, Democrats will have their troubles with young men.

Bayh is the son of Birch Bayh who was a shill for the unions in IN. I didn’t trust Birch as far as I could throw him, In all fairness, I don’t know Beau’s background, but I’m betting it’s one of those apple-fall-tree things.

In GA 7 or 9 Statewide Democrat candidates are women. Women dominated the primary voters and will probably dominate the Oct-Nov voters. Everyday this week there is a long line at the Sandy Springs library 80% female in line to vote.

LOL, yes, I remember that ridiculous Kamala Harris commercial. All those rough tough guys who are telling us how rough and tough they were. But they were going to vote for Kamala.
