It's said that absence makes the heart grow fonder, but what's there to say about a governor who, after two terms, could only make a positive contribution to his state by suffering a retroactive total existence failure?
According to outgoing Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, his eight years were filled with "signature accomplishments" on the "things that matter most: children and families, economic opportunity, health and safety, and strong local communities."
Oh, Tim.
Let's set the record straight, shall we?
Walz loves to brag about how much he increased spending on this or that program — with results that are questionable at best — his real signature accomplishment was taking the old public perception of "Minnesota Nice" and turning it into "Land of 10,000 Frauds."
And that's the low end.
So here's a quick look at the Big Three: "Other" Medicaid, Feeding Our Future, and For the Children™.
The Medicaid and social services fraud that somehow just slipped Walz's notice is the biggie, totaling over ONE BILLION DOLLARS, and believed to be some of the worst fraud in American history. The money was supposed to go to services for the autistic, housing, at-home health services, and the like. Mostly, it was pilfered.
Feeding Our Future claimed to have served millions of meals to needy children, but prosecutors say most meals were never provided. Funds went to luxury cars, real estate (including overseas), travel, etc. It was, as some put it, "industrial-scale" fraud involving hundreds of millions of dollars — made possible by COVID slush funds and weak oversight.

As bad as Walz was and is, he is just a symptom of the disease. The entire federal government has been set up to be ripped off. Its been coming for years with the ever more permissive Welfare State transfer payment system. But it went into overdrive with Obama really loosening up the rules for things like SSI disability, food stamp eligibility and things like payments for these learning centers. And the Dem office holders all wanted their share of the flood of money that was coming out of the spending spigot that Obama turned on. Walz did what probably every other Dem governor did but was so stupid that he didn’t set it up right and got caught. You can be damn sure that Gavin Newsom is doing something similar but is slick enough to not have his oily prints all over it. But dopey, deer-in-the-headlights Tim did.
For the DSA and their voters, reality is irrelevant.

Walz is like an STD …a gift that keeps on giving. Under his “ leadership” average Minnesotans are suffering under crushing taxes as a result of his policies as well as the fraud. The cost of car license tabs has become ridiculous with many newer vehicles having an annual license fee of well over $1,000. The state’s gasoline tax is free floating indexed to inflation so as your cost of everyday necessities goes up due to inflation so does the cost of gas without any legislative intervention. Property taxes are going up double digits in many counties. A $2 billion dollar state budget surplus disappeared overnight. Sales taxes on certain products are over 10%. Free tuition at state universities has been given to illegal aliens. Illegal aliens are handed driver’s licenses with few questions asked. Now crime driven by Somali gangs is spilling over into the suburbs where gun fights between rival gangs forced the evacuation of a high school homecoming football game and terrorized drivers as gangs traded shots on local freeways. Tampon Tim might be gone not soon enough but his failed legacy goes on.
