Led by Bahrain, 80 countries complained to the UN Security Council that "Iran and the Houthis threaten international security, navigational rights, and freedoms. Innocent lives are being put at risk." They called for "the full and immediate reopening of the Hormuz Strait, without the imposition of unlawful fees, conditions or payments and the end of Houthi attacks on Red Sea vessels and Saudi oil pipelines."

Thousands of protesters demonstrated outside UN headquarters in New York City calling for the UN General Assembly to take action against the Iranian regime's massacres of peaceful opponents. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) asserted that "as long as this regime remains in power, repression, executions, terrorism, and warmongering will continue. The solution is regime change by the Iranian people and their organized Resistance."

Iranian activist Zahra Amanpour said "the unfinished promise of generations of Iranian struggle is the right of the Iranian people themselves to determine what comes next. That is the Iran I believe in — an Iran where women and men are equal, beliefs are freely chosen, leaders are elected rather than inherited, and governments belong to the people rather than the people belonging to their governments."

Iran's president, Masoud Pezeshkian, denounced critics of the regime "as infidels who reject Islam's righteous jihad to convert the world to the worship of Allah. Those who oppose us are denying us our religious freedom. Any and every means to achieve this holy goal are explicitly sanctioned by the Quran. I call upon the American Democrats to recognize our rights, overthrow the Trump dictatorship, and make Islam--the only true religion--the faith of every American."

The Democrat nominee for the US Senate seat from Michigan Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, despite numerous calls for him to dissociate himself from the Iranian regime declined to do so, saying "while I usually stand with freedom and democratic movements I also respect the idea of religious freedom. Much of what Iran's President has to say has merit. Once I'm elected I will work to rebuild the bridges between our two countries that Trump destroyed with his unprovoked war on Iran."

Meanwhile, armed resistance fighters have killed senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander Brigadier General Hossein Zarifi, commander of the Shahid Sajad operational base in Saravan County, in the southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan province. At least 13 members of the IRGC security forces were also seriously wounded in the attack on Zarifi.
