German State Election Scares France

The first place finish of the Alternative for Germany Party (AfG) in the Saxony-Anhalt state election has French Finance Minister Roland Lescure scared. "It clearly sends out a very, very worrying signal," he said. "This shows that we face a major challenge in the face of a populist wave ‌which is spreading around the world today and which we must resist."

"To see the far-right prevail in the German regional election marks a very grave moment for Europe," said French European Affairs Minister Benjamin Haddad. "We must listen with humility to the anger, fears and worries and duly respond to these concerns. But nationalism and xenophobia will never be the answer."

The AfG Manifesto includes the following principles:

We believe in direct democracy, the separation of powers, the rule of law, market economics, federalism, family values and German cultural heritage.

We cannot remain idle and observe the breaches to justice and the rule of law, the destruction of the constitutional state, and irresponsible political actions which clash with sound economic principles.

We maintain an open mind towards other nations and cultures, but wish to be and remain German at heart.

We shall continuously strive to uphold human dignity, support families with children, retain our western Christian culture, and maintain our language and traditions in a peaceful, democratic, and sovereign nation state for the German people.

We will have reached our goal when government and all its institutions become servants to all citizens in our country. We want all members of government to swear to dedicate their efforts to the well-being of the German people, promote their welfare, protect them from harm, uphold and defend the German Constitution and the laws of the Federation, perform their duties conscientiously and do justice to all.

"Clearly, these right-wing extremists are out of step with modern thinking," Haddad warned. "Unity within the European Union requires that subsidiary nations support the policies created for them by the experts we have hired to devise those policies. The path that AfG wants us to follow can only lead to anarchy. I think that denying them the participation in the German and European Union governments that their vote totals would otherwise have earned for them has been a wise policy."

This continuing attempt to equate what are principles regarded as "right-wing" as somehow being the precursors to a neo-Nazi regime are frightening little children, and they should stop and think for just a minute.

The Nazis of the Third Reich were among the very worst of LEFTISTS during the Twentieth Century, exceeded only by the Soviet version of Communism, the "International Socialism".

National Socialism, the term which was contracted from the German spelling of National-SoZialische to make the acronym "Nazi", was the "kinder, gentler" form of socialism, but most definitely NOT in any way, shape, form, or manner "right-wing", except in respect to Communism itself. Nice piece of propaganda on the part of Josef Stalin.

It is not nationalism that is the enemy here, but the socialism. Yet the two get conflated in the minds and imaginations of the timid and the maliciously disposed.
