This is a question Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin is mulling. "I mean, marrying your brother so he could gain entry into the US as a spouse is fraud. Since she was married to another man at the time, it was also bigamy, which is another crime. As a member of Congress should Rep. Omar (D-Minn) be exempt or should she, as a lawmaker, be held to a higher standard and have to answer for such violations? It's a real conundrum."
Abdihakim Osman, a friend of Rep. Omar, said that Omar told her "she wanted to get papers for her brother so he could get into this country, but she didn't say anything about marrying him. It was only later that the media turned up a marriage certificate."
Mullin acknowledged that "a lot of Democrats would view efforts at enforcing the law in such a case as a political hit job. After all, even though laws were broken, her brother didn't kill or even stab anyone while he was here. He just went to college, graduated and is now living in England. Since we can't seem to convict a woman who strangled her three small children to death in this country I'm doubtful that a jury would convict a sitting member of Congress for a lesser crime."
In related news, it turns out that the one juror in the Lindsay Clancy trial who refused to acquit her is a Black man. A fellow juror explained that "this holdout juror couldn't get past the graphic reality that Clancy viciously killed her three young children." CBS Mornings host Gayle King was stunned to learn that "a Black man would be the holdout. Whoa I said to myself. I have to sit with that for just a second."

If the same thing done by an ordinary citizen is punished, then yes.
The US government is a corrupt joke.
For example: Glitch McConnell
And the problem with that is?
She broke obvious laws. She's also a complete leftist hypocrite. A double win
In basketball its called a "slam dunk" and you never pass up a slam dunk
Do crimes warrant punishment? Yes, and it should not matter who committed them.
Some animals are more equal than other animals.
Yes, but only if either the “death sentence” or “deportation” is in the list of possibilities...
Punish someone. For something.
Conundrum my dying ***. Deport, now. She hates America anyhow and loves to say it. Send AOC and her squad buddies with her.
Whatever the crime or crimes regarding Ilhan Omar happen to be her real crime in the eyes of those spearheading her prosecution is criticizing Israel.
Sorry, that’s the way it is.
Absolutely , a crime is a crime and she should be prosecuted for them, and considering she is in congress and passing laws for the rest of us, her penalty should be far harsher.
And yet, nothing ever happens. Both parties are complicit.
So true.
Is a bear Catholic?
Probably not according to Walz, Ellison, Johnson, Klobuchar and Craig.
Then bring her to court and FIND OUT!
Congress can act unilaterally and expel her as well.
Don’t forget Flanagan & Frey!
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-—WHO PAID FOR HIS “EDUCATION” HERE??
Confiscate all assets
Denaturalize and deport
No fly list
Never to reenter the USA
A good example of that corruption is when they had a fund secretly paid for by the taxpayers to pay for the litigation costs and settlements of sexual assault charges on members of congress. That's a real face-palm when you think about it.
