Four people were wounded and one killed after gunfire erupted at a concert in Lexington, Kentucky, on Saturday night.
The Lexington Herald Leader reported that the incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. at Charles Young Park, about a mile and a half from where Gov. Andy Beshear (D) was speaking at a dinner.
The identity of the deceased individual has not been released nor has any information on the number of people who were shooting.
The four wounded people are not believed to have life-threatening injuries.
“Weathers said a 4-year-old, a 14-year-old and two adults were shot and taken to a hospital,” according to the report. “Weathers didn’t confirm what event the park was hosting Saturday, but tents were still set up alongside the park as officers investigated.”
The New York Post noted that Beshear told dinner attendees the shooting had occurred, saying, “Before I continue, I do need to let y’all know we do have some tough news tonight, about a mile and a half from here, we’ve had a shooting actually since we started this dinner. We have five people that I think received injuries and probably have one deceased.”
He then pushed for the election of Democrats as a way to stop mass shootings.
“To stop mass shootings, we have got to elect Democrats that will actually do something about it,” Beshear said.

Who were the perpetrators responsible for this latest act of violence?!
Somebody likely killed the shooter (who's the dead one)... And my guess is... It wasn't a Democrat.

Isn’t this a bit absurd? Without knowing full details of what happens, he just launches immediately into the gun control debate. And then makes it political, we are told to vote Democrat. If we’re against mass shootings.
So then the implication is that evil Republicans are in favor of mass shootings? Can we see how absurd the thought process and logic is on this?
Not to pick on Chicago necessarily, but Chicago is run by Democrats. And they have a good Democrat mayor, city council et cetera, Illinois is similarly run by Democrats. And illinois and Chicago have some strict gun control laws, and yet there are drive by shootings there all the time.
I’m just spouting off the top of my head here. But clearly, this governor is a fool on this issue. There are places where democrats are in control politically. And where they have passed some strict gun laws and shootings happen anyway. So where does that leave us with his claim that we need to vote Democrat to prevent mass shootings?
I guess he doesn’t realize that HE IS A DEMOCRAT.................
I think it was hip hop artist Whoddie that was performing at the concert.

The above article says the shooting was on evening of 15th. Your link refers to the band Benny J as playing on the 14th.
If you Google “what bands played at Charles Young Park”, it also says Benny J played on 14th. Whoddie played on 15th.
Googling “Charles Young Park Shooting”, it says shooting took place on 15th.
Interesting that the Lexington press does not indicate Who(side) was actually performing.
