WASHINGTON, D.C. — Democrats issued a forceful condemnation today of Dr. Anthony Fauci's diary for its vicious attacks against science.
Senator Chuck Schumer warned that the diary contained several dangerous conspiracy theories, such as that COVID-19 was a man-made bioweapon that was leaked from a Chinese lab.
"These are not attacks on a mere person. This diary is attacking science itself," said Schumer. "The assertions made by this diary about COVID having far lower mortality than believed is a disgusting attempt to whitewash the truth. Statements like this by the diary could literally kill millions of people. We hereby denounce the diary and its bigoted, irrational declarations in the strongest possible terms."
The diary, obtained by a subpoena from Republican Senator Rand Paul, has been labelled a "Republican trick" to mislead people about the nature and origin of COVID. "This diary, made public by the Republicans, is an assault on science at its worst," said journalist Jake Tapper. "They are trying to cast doubt on the established findings of modern medicine, to the danger of us all. The person behind this diary should be behind bars."
At publishing time, Democrats had launched an initiative to have the diary barred from the public due to it being dangerous misinformation.
