This week in Mullin v. Doe, a 6-3 majority of the US Supreme Court ruled that the temporary protected status granted to immigrants from Haiti in 2010 could be discontinued by the Trump Administration. Writing for the majority, Justice Samuel Alito asserted that "a temporary status initiated by a previous administration can be terminated by a later administration if it determines that the conditions justifying the original decision have changed. In this case, the temporary protection was initiated due to an earthquake in Haiti."
In her dissenting opinion, Justice Elena argued that "the original temporary protection order was put in place by former President Obama as part of his fundamental transformation of America agenda. To allow Trump to undo this or any of President Obama's other executive orders would undermine this transformation and should not be allowed. The majority of the Justices are simply out-of-step with the nation's transition to democratic socialism. It's just a matter of time before they are rendered irrelevant by the appointment of as many new progressive minded Justices needed for a solid majority."
New York Attorney General Letitia James said "this ruling is a betrayal of who we are supposed to be as a nation. As the richest nation in the world we have an obligation to share this wealth with the poor of the world. Allowing them to come here is step one on the road to global equality in all things. Getting them registered to vote is step two. Democrats winning every election going forward is step three. Mandating total equality is the final step toward the utopia promised by Karl Marx in his Communist Manifesto."
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani vowed "the people of New York City are going to face down a Supreme Court and a Trump Administration that refuse to recognize that immigrants are what makes our city great. New Yorkers will take to the streets to physically fight ICE agents who attempt to remove Haitians or any other folks who they deem have no right to be in this country. The same folks who rioted to overturn trash cans, start fires, and vandalize buildings after the Knicks won the NBA championship will do whatever it takes to stop law enforcement from arresting persons that have entered the country illegally. I will pardon anyone who gets arrested for injuring or killing federal officers or destroying property while defending our immigrants."
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that she "will block the Trump Administration from ending protected status for our Haitians. Over half of our Haitian immigrants are dependent on public welfare. There is no guarantee that the types of benefits they are accustomed to getting here would be replicated in Haiti. Sending them back to where they came from would constitute a risk of unimaginable hardship for those who are deported and for the Democratic Party which desperately needs their votes to sustain its control over state policies."

She just admitted the Haitians are voting. TPS is not citizenship; how, then, are they voting?
Just finished watching “Citizen Vigilanty” on X. It’s a call to arms.

What else is new?
They gonna put y'all back in chains!
It is satire, but true except for the fact that they won’t openly admit it.
Thanks, John, for another fine column.
