Former reality TV star Spencer Pratt will advance into the November general election runoff for Los Angeles mayor. With roughly 50 percent of the expected vote counted early Wednesday morning, Bass led with approximately 36-37 percent while Pratt pulled in a strong 29.2 percent.
Progressive City Councilmember Nithya Raman trailed far behind in third at 21.4 percent.
Under California’s top-two primary system, Bass and Pratt will face off in November, giving Pratt five more months to campaign.
Pratt decided to run on cleaning up the city after becoming fed up with rampant crime, homelessness, and losing his home in the devastating 2025 wildfires, which he, and many others, largely blame on incumbent Mayor Karen Bass’ extreme failures.
Though the election is non-partisan, with no listed parties, Pratt is personally a registered Republican.
The Hills star’s Pacific Palisades home was destroyed in last year’s wildfires. He announced his bid on the one-year anniversary of the destruction, positioning himself as the candidate who lost everything to government incompetence and is now fighting to fix it.
Pratt campaigned on aggressive homeless sweeps, tougher policing, business revival, and accountability for the Bass administration’s handling of disasters and street disorder.
Around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday night at his watch party at Don Antonio’s Mexican restaurant, Pratt stepped outside to address reporters after early results showed him advancing.
In a fiery statement to the gathered press, Pratt declared, “I didn’t know I’d be here tonight, but this is obviously God’s plan, and I’m going to go all the way, and I’m going to show everybody that I’m their mayor.”

Pratt also declared, “The Communists already lost.”

Clips of his statement quickly went viral across social media.
Earlier on election day, Pratt released a hard-hitting video blasting city leadership on affordability and economic growth, emphasizing his focus on boosting commerce and local prosperity.

How does this work? A runoff in November? Isn’t the general election in November?
Hell, they won’t have the vote counting done for this election before Election Day.
I can’t believe 35% of the LA citizens voted for the communist b!tch who let the city burn down. This is the kind of thing that continues to feed my disgust for Kalifornians.
They are the same thing. Whoever wants to make the November election runs in the primary regardless of party. The two top vote getters regardless of party do the “run off” which is actually the general election.
It is how the California “top two” primary system works.
If no one obtains 50% +1 in the primary, the two with the top vote totals run against each other in the general election.
Well, their ‘runoff’ is the General. California has wacky rules. This ‘Jungle Primary System’ was to eliminate Republicans from office all over California by promoting the multiple Democrat candidates and ending up with two as the top vote getters. Then no Republicans can even be in the General. Gotta save ‘our Democracy’, don’tcha know.....................................
we have jungle primaries here. Not good.
But Rs did well. We made an R candidate onto the November ballot in almost every statewide category. Sometimes, we don’t. So this is progress.
LA had their jungle primary for mayor. Spencer Pratt and the Cuba Commie made the top two. So they will face off in November.
Pratt has peaked.
As she is the incumbent, I suspect Bass has largely topped out and everyone else is mainly anti-Bass.
That’s basically how it worked with Cornhole vs. Paxton.
That’s a good sign.
Runoff
In CA, a runoff is like diheriah (sp) —in every imaginable way.
“Five more months to campaign.”
Schedule a debate with her in each of those months.
I don’t think Pratt is assured 2nd place just yet. Can anyone tell me why there hasn’t been a single update on vote totals today...or if there is one, where is it?
“As she is the incumbent, I suspect Bass has largely topped out and everyone else is mainly anti-Bass.”
Raman voters are going to vote for Bass.
How can a mayor with a 70% dissaproval rating be the first-place finisher?
Democrats are the dumbest of the dumb
If you can believe this, today I heard they "take Wednesday off" to get geared up for the big countdown of votes, which we know will take weeks. Or at least as long as it takes to install their candidate of choice with faked ballots and other manipulations.
They are busy printing up new ballots to bring Ramen Noodles across the line ahead of Spencer...............
Printing press..................
A lot of those dumb CA Demos have moved to TX, and they greatly boost Talarico’s chances against Paxton.
Pratt pulled in 30%. That means 70% of Angelinos voted for a communist if one stripe or another.
