It is a legit question... that should have been asked more forcefully of the previous administration. They gave Biden a pass for skyrocketing energy prices and inflation due to stupid energy policy and tangential support for Ukraine. They're going after Trump for removing an actual threat with less than half the cost to energy and inflation.
I agree the Democrats are going to run on this... but don't pretend the Press are impartial.

I think you underestimate the vast majority of Trump’s own voters are not going to be placated with the nuke reassurance. Including baby boomers and those with Cold War memories. Even if Iran had nukes, it’s hard to convince the public that they’d be stupid enough to use them. Mutually assured destruction seems to keep North Korea and Pakistan in check.
But actually North Korea just changed their constitution to say if their leader is taken out Ayatollah style, drop a nuke.
So if anything this whole ordeal has made the world more dangerous not less.

Yes it remains to be seen how Americans - average ones - benefit from Venezuela, at least right now. It’s timing & optics heading into the midterms. People want Trump to talk about kitchen table issues, but all they see on TV are oil execs at round tables and gas prices going up.
