"Unhoused Persons Bill of Rights" [semi-satire]
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ | 10 May 2026 | John Semmens

Posted on 05/11/2026 11:22:51 AM PDT by John Semmens

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich) has introduced an "Unhoused Persons Bill of Rights" legislation that would dramatically expand government spending for homeless people. "Homelessness is at record levels," she said. "We are morally obligated to do something about it."

"Having access to a safe place to live is a human right," Tlaib claimed. "This means that it's the government's responsibility to provide it to the people who need it. Ideally, everyone would be given a real home equivalent to that enjoyed by the average American. However, that would require redirecting the entire annual $1.5 trillion military budget to build and maintain these residences. My bill is a compromise that would only require a $168 billion annual bite out of the military budget. Until we can get to this ideal we need to allow the homeless to stake out vacant spaces like parks, transit facilities, sidewalks, private buildings, restrooms--essentially claim whatever space they want."

"How can anyone who has a place to live deny allowing the homeless to make the best they can of spaces that are not in continuous use by others?" the Congresswoman asked. "How can anyone who has more money than a homeless person object to sharing that money? Is it not shameful that you have to be asked to share? When you see a poor person and you have cash on you how do you justify withholding it from someone in greater need when Allah has commanded us all to give alms to the poor?"

Tlaib predicted that "the passage of my legislation will end the unhoused crisis by 2029 at the latest."

Unhoused persons should have a right to live in Rashida Talibs house.

Tlaib should change her name to something everyone can spell. I think she should change her name to Karen Karen. First and last name fit her so well.

Right

We should do something about it.

Remove every illegal from the country now.

Make room for our own citizens.

Huh. Must have missed that clause in the Declaration of Independence. Also must have missed the part in the Constitution where it says the government is obligated to give some people stuff that is paid for with OPM.

I thought ones were not to be called ‘House-wives’ so then how can ones be called ‘Unhoused’?

Spencer Pratt nailed it in a video. The homeless don't want housing, they want fentanyl and meth.

I agree. And it's plain that the Democrats want them clustered in places where they can register them to vote, and in places where drugs are openly sold so as to keep them from leaving for other places.

“Unhoused People” are unhoused for a reason, and it has nothing to do with any amount of money spent to make the housing available. They may have an underlying mental distress, or a drug problem, or a native reticence in regards to the larger society around them.

Another example of treating the symptom, and not treating the underlying condition. No matter how much “concern” is showered on the “unhoused people”, all this is only fertile soil to raise new forms of fraud which in the end has absolutely no effect on the fate of the target demographic.

How stealing from the tax payer works.

Having access to a safe place to live is a human right,” Tlaib claimed. “This means that it’s the government’s responsibility to provide it to the people who need it.

Slackers wave more welfare signs.

"When you see a poor person and you have cash on you how do you justify withholding it from someone in greater need when Allah has commanded us all to give alms to the poor?"

a)Because cash is not what they need, and it will only be wasted on drugs or alcohol, and b)Why would I listen to a Muslim about what Allah commands of me?

Right. And they’d be covering their ears and leaving during the annoying 5 Calls To Prayer.

That is some great insight.

Ha.
Judge as she is arrested in a violent anti ICE protest: “Is Karen your first name or last name?”
Tlaib: “Yes.”

Most of these people are unwelcome in the homes of family or friends because they’re either dope fiends or nuts!

Being “unhoused” suits them just fine.

I remember when there used to be very prominent mental institutions for the dangerous psychos who wander our streets and ride our subways.

And, the bums who burglarized our cars and homes for drug money were sent to the calaboose!

Rights do not deprive other people of the fruits of their labor. Everything a democrat proposes takes from the productive to give to the unproductive.

"Having access to a safe place to live is a human right,"

I wonder how many people in Rashida Tlaibhome's home country have a safe place to live? Rep.
