Reacting to Viktor Orban’s defeat, Scarborough hailed it as a “great day for Western democracy” and a “very bad day” for those who have “done their best to try to destroy Western democracy.” He then pivoted to a broader swipe at critics of his preferred definition of “liberal democracy.”
“Liberal: a traditionally small-government term,” Scarborough insisted—before adding that “a lot of really stupid people don’t understand that, because they don’t read history. I guess they just scrawl in crayon books.” Liberal democracy = small government, Joe? If only!
The line fits a long-running pattern. Over the years, Scarborough has repeatedly caricatured conservatives—especially bloggers—as unserious or dim, mocking them as Cheeto-chompers. More recently, he sneered that he’d have to “talk slowly” so bloggers could understand him.

Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.

“Liberal: a traditionally small-government term,” Scarborough insisted—before adding that “a lot of really stupid people don’t understand that, because they don’t read history. I guess they just scrawl in crayon books.” How about Mika, Joe, does she like crayons?

I’m pretty sure Vance doesn’t speak Hungarian, a language that is impenetrable for most English-speakers, so I don’t see how his intervention in the campaign could have been effective.
Come on governs! Who cares about Scarboro?
Think Peter Lorre in “Casablanca”.
Lorre: “Rick you despise me don’t you?”
Rick: “If I gave you any thought I probably would”.
Classic.
Meh, almost everybody in Europe speaks 4-5 languages — and English is almost always one of them.
Heck, I travel often to Europe for work — and I honestly do marvel... I go out to dinner with a Dutch, German, and Italian colleague? Even the waitress can usually get by talking about the menu in 4 different languages.
