"Fruitless did I call the victory of the Last Alliance? Not wholly so, yet it did not achieve its end. Sauron was diminished, but not destroyed. His Ring was lost but not unmade. The Dark Tower was broken, but its foundations were not removed; for they were made with the power of the Ring, and while it remains they will endure."

How about control your yapping and carping. this thing is far from over.
Elrond was a poser compared to Glorfindel and Thranduil.
Far from over. Trump has been brilliant in his ambiguity.
You do not make absolute committments when you are attempting to deal with adversaries, and make them do what you want.
You keep them wondering what might happen next, as you destroy the enemies power and financial base.
The enormous power and technical advantages of the US military are being used to acomplish what is best for the United States.
It is a modern version of gunboat diplomacy.
Do what we tell you or else, the or else being comprehensive destruction.
We are snatching defeat from the jaws of victory by accepting, nay, even initiating negotiations as if we were the suffering and defeated party desperate to find an end to the conflict. I was initially hopeful that regime change would come to Iran at last when the attacks started, but now I see the case for optimism rapidly collapsing. Not due to lack of military superiority, but the Western way of war is to cry and beg mercy after suffering the slightest wounds (a handful of casualties and modest economic damage in this case).
Calm down. We are only at the end of the beginning. Trump floats more trial balloons than a cheap carnival clown
Weeding a garden then is a fruitless endeavor?
Trump just wants to get the mullahs together again.
Not fruitless, but disappointing if the means to permanently eliminate the weeds are available but the will to bear the cost of using them are not. If the IRGC is still in control when Trump declares victory I will be counting it as a loss. A loss for America and Israel in the near-enough future, and a loss every day for ordinary Iranians.
It’s been three whole weeks! Why is this taking so long?
