An Islamic studies scholar told students to “be a threat” and praised the assassination of two “Zionists” during an online event Wednesday hosted by a student group at Union Theological Seminary, according to video clips of the talk.
Professor Muhammad Abdou spoke at the event “Death to the Akademy: How to be a thorn in their throat amidst snakes in the grass” co-hosted by the seminary chapter of Students for a Liberated Palestine and the group Queer Muslims of New York City, the Washington Free Beacon reports.
Abdou taught at Columbia University until recently when the institution banned him for “his public support for Hamas and Hezbollah,” according to the report.
In a video on X, Manhattan Institute investigative analyst Stu Smith shared clips of Abdou’s talk from the event Wednesday.

Union Theological Seminary is the go-to place for leftists who aspire to be preachers in Mainline Presbyterian Churches (PCUSA)
And the few remaining members in PCUSA churches are wondering why deaths of current members far exceed the admittance of new members.
In my time at Columbia U there was a professor called Edward Said. He stopped short of this kind of talk.
This kind of talk was just not possible at that time either on or off campus.

Union Theological Seminary. That’s evidence of TROUBLE. That’s a theological mess, and I am thankful for Frank Larisey’s 2013 Letter to the Editor, “It’s Not About Sex,” in regards to the Great Anglican Schism. The seminaries started the mess.
And in this case, knowledge of Union Theological Seminary’s Protestant Liberalism allowed me to expose the truth of how that seminary collapses. The church I currently attend left PCUSA over 45 years ago go join the ARP.
This once-leading seminary must return to Christianity!

Maybe it’s time for the seminary chapter of Students for a Liberated Palestine and the group Queer Muslims of New York City to be banned from campus and the students warned that observing their work on campus grounds will constitute a possible suspensions from the college grounds. The students do not have freedom of speech listening to and/or supporting a group that preaches murder or bodily harm.

We are not at war with their ideology. War has not been declard by congress nor can it. The U.S. Constitution empowers Congress to declare war (Article I, Section 8), traditionally interpreted as against foreign nations. While it does not specifically authorize war against a domestic religious sect, the Supreme Court has noted Congress’s broad authority to prosecute war by all legitimate means. However, the First Amendment protects free exercise, generally prohibiting government targeting of religious conduct. And the Free Exercise Clause limits the government’s ability to target specific religious groups, prohibiting persecution. So, if they don’t have a uniform or a country of origin they don’t qualify even if they have murdered which falls under a different part of the Constitution based upon criminal acts and unless it was on government land, the feds don’t play unless the governor of that particular state requests and pays for federal troops on the ground on state controlled property.
