Donald Trump’s apparent interest in regime change in Iran is a welcome development.
The opening days of the US-Israeli military campaign against the ayatollahs and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (“IRGC”) have proceeded beyond expectations, although harder days undoubtedly lie ahead. The Pentagon’s planning and professionalism are on full display.
By contrast, the political side of this politico-military assault on the Tehran regime is hurting.

Not happening.
Probably won’t happen. Just blowing up their military should be enough
Not regime change, an “adjustment in attitude”. Same effect, different terminology.
There is an underlying civil authority in Iran, but for the moment may be suppressed by the theocratic state superimposed upon it, and the muscle of the IRGC acting as the draconian police force supporting the theocracy.
John Bolton IS A RECTAL ORIFICE, plain and simple.
Extinguishing their military and blocking the communist Chinese out — fine!
Great! Necessary
Regime change? Very desirable indeed. It roll still take the Iranian peoples to figure this out. Whoever will wind up ruling the rubble ? Hopefully a sane peaceful government but do long as it’s neutralized militarily (and continuously monitored to assure no rebuilding of dir, misdile, nuclear, navel, or any other means of aggression) —- fine.
Here’s hoping that President Trump has the wisdom to see that he’s not in a good place when flaming @ssholes with a long history of TDS are on his side.
The ‘Stash has permanently disgraced himself. Ignore.
That is fair.
Just keep doing what he’s doing.
There is a lot happening on the sidelines that is not being talked about. The Prince already organized a provisional government to take control at the proper time.
I could be wrong, but my general expectation is that, as Iran takes control of itself, the US government will reduce its role.
Iranians that I’ve talked to have the big picture worked out. Their national legislature will decide everything and the King only becomes involved when there are issues the legislature can’t come to agreement upon.
Similar to the British Parliamentary system but a stronger role for the monarchy.
My best guess is that the Trump administration is trying to recruit Iran’s regular army to take over. The regular army cannot love the IRGC and I’m sure they hate the mullahs. Expect a general to take over.
No need to change regime. Just wipe out their military and leave them the message that if they don’t start acting somewhat civilized and leave their neighbors alone, the beating will resume.
And just let them sort things out. Sooner than later the message will sink in.
Yup.
NewsMax in 2025 wrote, "Bolton, who told Newsmax on Jan. 17 that he will be proven right that Trump is just an aberration in American politics, said Trump also canceled his security detail."
Bolton should get a cheap motel room with Victoria Nuland and Liz Cheney, and have a nice cry.
He better get it together and fast. Sweet dealing with his Soviet Military II, when claiming the US is now pumping huge oil won’t get it done. American citizens have had enough of these high gas ⛽ prices
* And these prices will be passed along everything related to transportation. Food, housing, rent, etc
* He’ll create a HOME economy vacuum that another O-Imposter will fill.
* Other than the attempted deportations, close to 1/3 of his term wasted.
Not happening.
Elimination of Iran’s capacity to successfully achieve their longstanding stated goal of destroying the U.S.? Very likely. Regime change? Less so, but still more likely than not. At this point, it sounds like we and Israel are all in.
Sounds like an improvement
Two or three weeks of carpet-bombing from the B-52’s will change the calculus dramatically. Iran isn’t Vietnam. Like Iraq, there is nowhere to hide.
