Tamara Keith:
Now, I did talk to an official who was part of the first Trump administration with a national security role today who said this operation in Venezuela was "Extremely Maga."
And I was like, OK, really? How so? And what he said is that Maga was never anti-interventionist. It was never isolationist. What it was that it needed to be in the U.S. Interests and that Iraq and Afghanistan were not clearly in the U.S. Interests in the way that this operation was, tying it to immigration, tying it to drugs and a real emphasis on this hemisphere. President Trump's "Donrow" doctrine of the Monroe doctrine.
One person who disagrees that this is a Maga move is Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is marking her last days in office. Obviously we expected Democrats to oppose the military action in Venezuela, which they have. But Marjorie Taylor Greene also came out against this move by president trump. Here's what she said....
Amna: What do you make of this new trump doctrine and also that refraction Marjorie Taylor Greene?
Notable that she really has been the only person in congress on the Republican side to come out and publicly criticize his action.
We saw votes taken right before the holiday break in the house also calling on more congressional oversight on Venezuela. She was just one of three Republicans who voted with Democrats on this.
So there is not a big faction of Republicans right now, those are call themselves Maga or America first who see what the president did as something that is not within that lane. Part of it, Amna, has been that Maga and America first isn't necessarily an ideology, it's not a set of really clear principals or policies. It is what Donald Trump makes it to be. He is America first, America first is him and he said such after the U.S. bombed Iranian nuclear facilities at the summer of last year.
He told the atlantic exactly that, he said: 'I invented America first and it's basically what I say it is.'
I'm not expecting to see a big rift from Republicans over this issue. They're basically lining up behind the president.
One of the really interesting things that I noted in looking through some polling back in late November. CBS had a poll asking about military intervention in Venezuela and they broke it out among Republicans by those who identified as Maga and those who did not. And to Tim's points about this being a magafied sort of operation, something like 66% of those who identified as Maga said they would support a military intervention. Less than half of the non-MAGA thought the same thing. So I don't see this, even though Marjorie Taylor Greene has come out very strongly, I don't see a lot of Republicans who'll follow suit.
Donrow doctrine...
“Donroe” doctrine
When we eventually have to deal with China over Taiwan or Japan, will it be “Don-Ho”?
“Amna Nawaz”
A founding member of the DAR?
Too bad that tiny bubbles will not be an effective weapon against the CCP.
Did a really stupid AI transcribe this???
.
I like it.

Ignore the TDS by PBS.
The key is that Trump is using our military in operations where you can articulate a real “interest” for us.
Where was an interest for us in bombing Serbia?
We literally went to war for allies that benefitted and then some of the biggest beneficiaries stabbed us in the back 7 years later in Iraq 2003 when they pushed back on getting NATO involved.
US tax dollars, and US kids should bleed only where you can explain to an American parent of that kid, how his death had a direct purpose for his nation.
Some explanation where you have to delve into philosophy and use some abstract ideas to justify it don’t fly.
Regards Venezuela:
1.) The US has rid South America of the Chinese (Panama) and Russian (Venezuela had both) military and Intel presence that was of concern.
2.) The US now has control over 75% of the WORLDS traded oil.
PBS is stupid. They can’t figure out what MAGA means regards interventions.
If it risks US blood and spends US tax dollars, it better serve a US interest. Real simple.
Hey PBS.
—You get money from Americans, right?
—You try to make programming in English serving an American audience, right?
Now, this may be a shocker for you, but the US government with politicians sworn in to defend the US Constitution, elected by US citizens, SHOULD be spending US tax dollars and use the US military in furtherance of US interests.
The Corporation For Public Broadcasting voted to dissolve today.
No more federal money.
Of course.
Hey loose, venereal disease infected slut Nawaz, you capitalized MTG's name but not the President of The United States. However you are forgiven as advanced stages of gonorrhea can leave a person with permanent injuries or even have fatal consequences. And 'Words Matter' poster, you have the perfect screen name for this thread.
Good one. I just don’t want those with ‘ghetto language’ abusing it..
Anmna is Islamic liberal. But transcript is from AI.
MEGA MAGA
