I’ve been pondering the same thing. DJT had to have known this was going to happen, even before he said that he’d be running the country for a period of time. Maduro’s inner circle are known quantities.
DJT doesn’t have the clout in Congress to ask for a declaration of war. Yet.
So he’s going to strangle them economically, and wait and see if Maduro’s lawyer “proffer” an admission he helped flipped the 2000 elections (and tried to flip with 2024 elections), bribed several members of Congress and the US government, sent Tren de Agua to conduct subversive operations, and pumped drugs into American streets to create a social collapse. All acts of war.
Hopefully the Mid-Terms gives him the clout.
Or, he’s going to wait for a re-organization meeting with the new VZ president, and send a JDAM through the window.
