Minnesota Republicans rallied at the Capitol on Tuesday in an effort to put a new state flag design before voters this fall.
About two dozen people met on the Capitol steps to call for keeping Minnesota’s current state flag that features the state seal at the center of a dark blue background. Several held up or waved the flags as GOP lawmakers and others voiced frustration about the process that generated new state flag and seal designs.
“I’m wearing a T-shirt today that says, ‘Erasing history never goes well.’ And that’s what we believe is happening here,” Minnesota Republican Party Deputy Chair Donna Bergstrom said. “As a Native American and tribal member, it’s exhausting to see Native Americans once again bearing the brunt of the short-sighted eradication of our shared history.”
The Legislature last year set up the emblem redesign commission and tasked it with selecting a new state flag and seal before the end of the year.
DFL lawmakers raised concerns about the existing flag being cluttered and insensitive to some groups because the way it portrays a Native American man riding off into the sunset as a white farmer tills the land.
After taking in more than 2,000 submissions, the panel late last year approved new state flag and seal designs that will take effect on May 11 — Minnesota’s Statehood Day — barring legislative intervention.
A trio of GOP lawmakers said the commission’s process didn’t take in enough feedback from the public and Minnesotans should have a chance to put the designs to an up or down vote before they replace the current flag and seal.
“The goal is not to go back to this flag or to go to the new flag, the goal remains that Minnesotans deserve the right to vote for what represents them,”

Tribes were never unified. It’s a lie and it is despotic to try to erase history. We learn good things from history , not everything is good or bad from nations. They have do dumbed down education that people aren’t able to reason using logic.

A 54-minute secret recording from a December 11, 2021, closed-door meeting inside Minnesota Democrat, Attorney General Keith Ellison’s, official state office is resurfacing amid explosive revelations that 70 Somali community members in Minnesota participated in stealing $250 million in federal COVID child-feeding funds. On the tape released by "American Experiment" earlier this year, Democrat Ellison sympathizes with, encourages, and ultimately promises assistance to a group of thieving Somali businessmen, many of whom would later be charged or convicted in the largest COVID relief fraud scheme in U.S. history.

Well, the Old Testament account said they were united under David. And after his son Solomon died, the Old Testament account said they were split between the ten Northern tribes, called Kingdom of Israel, and the two Southern tribes, called Kingdom of Judah (Jews). This is not talking about modern education, but accounts in the Bible from 3,000 years ago.
Israel was sent into captivity, by Assyrian empire, about 721 B C and the Jews were carried off to the Babylonian capitivity about 650 A D. Some of the Jews came back later to build Jerusalem again.

Are people no longer allowed to pick the battles they want to fight? Or do we have to check your personal list of what we should be doing.
There are plenty of attacks on things to deal with. If you are upset not enough are focused on ones you consider important, try to sway them over to you to help, sarcastic shaming isn’t going to do it.
Gee, if anyone is upset, it seems to be you? Or, am I not allowed to suggest an alternate plan, given that the Republican party seems overwhelmed when given more than one thing to focus on.
I know this is going to sound really out there, but that’s the kind of crazy soul that I am. How about the MN GOP, which has limited resources, focus on something with more impact, like, say, oh I don’t know, fraud?
