Getting rid of over 2 million illegals must have freed up some housing around the nation.

How about getting the government out of the lending markets and out of the housing markets.

I’m very curious about this. A big part of the problem is local zoning and regulation. The feds can’t do much about that. Breaking up Black Rock and massive corporate ownership of private homes would be a good idea. That’s like Teddy Roosevelt Trust Busting. The Progressives loved it 120 years ago but might not like it so much today.

Over 2.5 million illegals have already been deported/left the country even before the new ICE employees have fully taken up their appointments.

Get out 60 million hispanic illegals and the housing market hels itself. Trump just isn’t committed to the illegal aliens crisis, he keeps wanting to band-aid broken systems that are broken because of illegals.

The Fed can kick out a lot of illegals (and cut back on importing legals too) but most issues should be handled at state level . Even if one is against private businesses buying up single family housing it should be handled at the state level.

I saw a readlly good non-political timeline of housing costs history in the USA from late 1800s to today. The long and short: zoning and regulations and mortgage rules ruined housing. Zoning because they forced larger lots for houses so builders had to build bigger homes to make up for it, regulations because endless code expansions make it very costly to build homes even with flimsy lousy materials. But you can buy one if you use a jumbo adjustable rate mortgage that all but guarantees you default down the road.

The summary: the government kept making it 'better' so now nobody can afford the resulting lower quality homes.

That amount doesn’t cover the rates of continous invaders, plus their anchor baby birthrate. It won’t even get rid of just the 20 mil that Biden let in the country.

This is easy……..

Keep deporting

Slash spending. Long term rates are going higher due to eroding faith in the govt credit.

Apt rates and housing is already coming down a bit. Keep the pedal to the metal on energy. The lowest level of livestock levels in decades needs to be reversed.

Nonsense!
No President in history has secured the American border and stopped illegals from coming in more than President Trump has.
Look it up.

Agree with your points .
There is no one on the right or left in favor of Black Rock buying up single family homes, condos or townhomes.
And the zoning is too restrictive .

“President Trump has called a meeting of his top economic advisors in Florida to draw up the most AGGRESSIVE housing affordability plan in US history”

100 year mortgages? Yippee.

Bush Jr. bragged about his “Ownership Society” by giving away free money to unqualified people...until it crashed and burned and left his legacy as the “Foreclosure Society”.

But there are things that can be done that would work...but they’ll piss off existing homeowners, because they would all bring down the price of housing, as that is the only other option.

Breaking up Black Rock and massive corporate ownership of private homes would be a good idea.

It would be a great idea, but do you really expect that to happen? Most housing affordability variables are outside the purview of the federal government anyway, being based on things like location desirability, local property taxes, and rising interest and insurance costs.

The one thing they COULD do, that MTG put a bill forward on earlier this year, is to adjust the federal capital gains tax back to something like it was before, where you weren't charged any of that so long as you invested your earnings into a new primary residence. The way it is now, where it taxes you heavily on any earnings after a fairly low cap, has people locked down in their homes, where it can make more sense to just borrow against their equity, verses just giving it to the government in the form of taxes.

How about getting the government out of the lending markets and out of the housing markets.>>> And the automobile business. Let people build houses and cars without government.

Start by getting all the Somalis out and sell those properties dirt cheap since they will need to be gutted down to the studs anyway.
