Darrell Issa caught on hot mic discussing his 2026 Congressional run

NEW: Caught on a pool camera before President Trump's trilateral peace deal signing, Rep Darrell Issa is overheard discussing CA-40 redistricting, seeming to suggest Rep Young Kim should not run against Rep Ken Calvert.

"Ken [Calvert] has nowhere else to go. She [Young Kim] does have a hard seat she could go to, and I know the administration would look favorably if she would do that. And then if she doesn't win, you know, she could go to the administration for two years. With Ken, we need him exactly where he is, and most of this district is or has been his. If anyone else had a claim for it, it'd be me."

Issa was reportedly considering a congressional run in Texas following Prop 50, but told Fox News Thursday he plans to run in California.

The Republicans must do more and not rely on President Trump so much. If the Dems take the House in 2026 it will be a horrible disaster. They will paralyze the country and do all they can to destroy MAGA. They will show us no mercy.

All these corrupt lifer politicians should be hiding from the people...For decades now nothing but open lawless boarders, 38 trillion in debt, trade policies and foreign policies only our enemies love, wars where we win nothing but death and debt, trillions in giveaways to foreign countries so they can collect kickbacks and bribes.

Instead of hiding, these rotten corrupt criminals in D.C., just keep running for yet another government position.

Insane!

It’s over for Republicans. None of them looked at the 24 numbers. Trump over performed them bigly. He carried THEM.

They have done nothing to make anyone want to show up for a midterm.
What of Trump’s EOs have they codified?

40-43 seats will be lost.

I believe you are correct. I and many of my friends and acquaintances are bigly pissed off. If thing don’t change rapidly there won’t be any motivation for me to head to the polls. CONgress must be purged

Darryl Issa may be running for a congressional seat next year? At age 72, I would have expected him to be preparing for retirement.

Did you know Mr. Issa is worth at least $500. Million Dollars? Mostly due to his precongress business success with Directed Electronics (maker of car alarms like Viper) and various investments.

Sadly I agree with you. It will be 1994 again except this time for Democrats.

It’s 10 months before anyone casts a vote for midterms 26. I hope we don’t have to listen to 10 months of you doom and gloomers between now and then.

A “hot mic” is usually BS. It is a stealth way to launch a trial ballon

I have doubts about the doom and gloom. The rats have offered nothing to entice voters. Yeah their base is motivated big time but they have done nothing to bring in any new voters

They have done nothing to make anyone want to show up for a midterm.

Why does this script always remain the same? Whether they pass anything or not, it never changes.

What were the major bills signed into law by Trump in 2025?
consolidated large tax cuts, permanent tax-rate changes, significant border and defense allocations, and sectoral regulatory shifts; alongside smaller, targeted statutes such as S.5 (the Laken Riley Act) addressing immigration custody for certain criminal charges. Reporting across policy summaries emphasizes that the flagship bill delivers roughly $4.5 trillion in tax cuts, permanentizes existing rates, creates new deductions, redirects substantial funding to border and defense priorities—including a reported $350 billion for border and national security—and contains thousands of pages of cross-cutting regulatory changes affecting energy, healthcare, and automotive policy

We have plenty of voters to win the election...they have to show up and vote, however, and our base needs to quit sitting on their behinds and keeping their wallets closed and leave our candidates twisting in the wind election after election unable to respond to a barrage of attacks from the media and their opponents.
