@yashar BREAKING
The US Conference of Catholic Bishops has issued a statement admonishing the Trump administration’s immigration actions.
The last time they issued such a statement was in 2013 in response to contraception mandates.
The vote to approve the statement was very close to unanimous: 216 votes in favor, 5 votes against, and 3 abstentions

OK, they have 216 votes out of 160 million, let them vote. Not exactly the bloc Trump is targeting.
To: TigerClaws
No surprise here.
The Catholic Bishops are lamenting the fact that Trump quit funding their CASH COW aka Catholic Charities.
Take money away from an organization and they go Postal.

I believe the Democrats want illegal aliens for potential voters and some Catholics want them for potential members contributing to their coffers.

Decades ago, I flew down to South Texas. Man in the seat next to me was a Catholic priest. He was going to rescue several Mexican women because “they’re poor and need our help”.
There aren’t enough poor Americans?

These bishops need to stay in their own lane. Their time is better spent encouraging the Latin Mass. While I rarely attend TLM, I’ve noticed that these masses are well attended, with many young families with multiple young children, invariably well behaved. Parishioners are also appropriately attired.
IMO, they are the bedrock of my faith. TLM needs to be encouraged, not discouraged.

They need to fix the corruption in their church before they can make demands as to how America should act!

There are no guarantees, FRiend. Judging by the financial statements and audits, the money I contribute to my local parish stays within the community. Our parish priest has lived in our community for as long as we’ve lived there, about 30 years. He and my daughter grew up together, he’s still in his 30s.

Good answer.
As President Reagan used to say “Trust but verify.”

Thanks! I received an excellent education at Gonzaga University, graduated nearly 50 years ago. I learned how to think critically there, though I admit I’m not right all of the time. It was a great experience, changed my life for the better.
At 71, I’m not as sharp as I’d like to be, but my BS detector is as strong as ever. I proved that soon after I started working for my company 3 years ago. I was tasked to reconstruct the financial records of one of our properties where fraud was suspected.
My work provided the basis for a lawsuit for fraud/theft exceeding $5 million. It wasn’t that difficult, just time consuming, as there were usually over 500 transactions per month to enter into the books. The easiest was $2 million in PPP fraud over two years.
