The US Conference of Catholic Bishops has issued a statement admonishing the Trump administration’s immigration actions.
The last time they issued such a statement was in 2013 in response to contraception mandates.
The vote to approve the statement was very close to unanimous: 216 votes in favor, 5 votes against, and 3 abstentions

Maybe they want it open for the undocumented children they can skim off.

But of course they do, most of those coming across the border to suck on the taxpayer’s teat are of the Catholic faith and the church wants them in so their offering plates are full. Here’s a thought, let’s go back to when immigrants, the legal kind, were the only ones acceptable and they had to have a sponsor that was absolutely financially responsible. Absolutely financially responsible means housing, food, clothing, medical….everything, just like when my parents legally immigrated. If the Catholic Church wants to ‘sponsor’ legal immigrants under those rules okay. As far as their demand for open borders, screw em! Why do they think the Vatican should be the only ones with walls to keep people out?
Literally how is this a religious issue? They have a vote like any other US citizen, ALSO some are not US citizens and again should have no input AT ALL in this issue!
Much of the Catholic leadership is infected with Liberation theology. Their Marxist paradise would only bring suffering to the world.
Being poor does not make you inherently virtuous nor inherently entitled to others wealth. Consider Abraham, Joseph, David and others in the Bible who were immensely wealthy.

Yep. I have mentioned this before. Awhile back I did a rough calculation. Based on its size, Vatican City can easily take in 2500 migrants. And of course the Church has the money to feed, clothe, and house them all.
How many immigrants has the Vatican taken in?
I’m guessing the number is around zero.
