The USA250 celebration gave a big FU finger to the "No Kings" weenies along Ocean Beach, CA.
5 Apache flew-by with the \Colors-USA\ displayed below four of the helicopters (image).
Wife and I were savoring our walk along the water line in OB.
The No Kings thing was sparsely attended (but I'm sure they counted it as a win.
This was a big FU to the OB folks who protested "No Kings" day, safe and happy in their roof-top restaurants.
It was visible in north San Diego, too.
Happened around 1700 just as the USA250 celebration was closing at Pendleton.

I really liked OB.
My kind of hippies, really.
A late 60s vibe from everyone and of all ages.

to this day i still don’t understand the protest.
the people protesting were teenagers at the time.
they made some great songs:

Interstingly enough I was reading 2 books about Laurel Canyon while in OB.
It shows several parallels to the past (1920s, WWII, Moon Landing and CRA) that can be extrapolated to today.
I thank God that I came of age in the mid-70s with a “watch and learn” perspective.
Suffice it to say, in the 70s, “Whirled Peas will be achieved by the current generation” is still alive.
And failing as always.
