Speaking at a NewsNation town hall meeting, Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa) disagreed with Democrats who call Trump and those who voted for him fascists, saying "I'm the only Democrat in my family. I grew up in a conservative part of Pennsylvania. I know and I love people who voted for President Trump. But they are not fascists, they are not Nazis, they are not trying to destroy the constitution or democracy."
He went on to caution "against inciting violence against our political opponents. The whole point of having democracy and constitutions is to replace the ancient method of allowing the strong to dispossess the weak by force. We have elections so the people can peacefully choose who will run the government. We have constitutions to protect the rights of the minority from being taken away by the majority. We have courts to hash out disagreements between opposing parties. These more humane methods take longer to resolve the issues of governance, but it's worth the wait."
As a case in point, Fetterman went on to discuss the government shutdown and reminded that "the tax credits for health care were designed by the Democratic Party to expire at the end of this year. This is not something being taken away by the Republicans. The tax credits were intended to expire. Demanding that these credits be extended as the Democratic Party's price for agreeing to a resolution to keep the government open while we debate this issue is taking the government hostage. The negotiations over policy differences should not be made under duress. I say vote to reopen the government now."
Fetterman's deviation from the Party Line has inspired other Democrats to work for his ouster from the Senate. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) pointed out that "Fetterman's abandonment of the principle of democratic centralism threatens the solidarity of our movement for democratic socialism. Look, the majority of the Democratic Party has agreed that confronting the fascism of the Republicans is our top priority. Success requires a united front. Those who refuse to fall in line must be eliminated. Being challenged in a primary is the least that Fetterman should expect. If that fails to bring him into compliance stronger methods may have to be devised."

As a Pennsylvanian, I’m almost tempted to engage in a little operation chaos, and register as a democrat to vote for Fetterman in the primaries, then vote Pubby in the general.
Those assassination lovers in PA may not even have to find someone to whack him, but instead just arrange for another “stroke”.

So Fetterman appears to have been a Democrat about 60 years ago, and was transported via a rip in the fabric of space-time to the present day. That might account for his stroke.
In all seriousness, Federman is one of the very few sane voices in the entire Democrat party. He is very much like the Democrats of many decades ago, intensely patriotic, willing to talk with the other side, but still standing up for his beliefs, misguided as some of them may be. But he absolutely believes in the rules of civilized behavior, something that is lost upon the leftist/Communist party that the Democrats have become in the last 15 or 20 years. They very much want to shut him up, because he exposes them for what they are, intolerant fascists, who are merely masquerading as Democrats.
