The Road to a NATO-Russia War
National Security Journal ^ | 9/11/2025 | Andrew Latham

Posted on 09/11/2025 10:40:15 AM PDT by whyilovetexas111

The 9 September events demonstrate two interlocking realities. First, the prospect of a NATO–Russia war is no longer an abstraction. Moscow has shown a willingness to test NATO directly. Second, the most likely path to such a conflict is not through deliberate escalation but through miscalculation. The means to a wider war exist; the question is which one. Technical failure, human error, or political panic could cause escalation to spiral in a single instant.

Putin is feeling weak and needs to stir up some Russian patriotism among the people.

If you live in much of Texas, you should have a shelter anyhow.

The EU is determined to go to war with Russia and drag us into it.

It's another reason Trump needs to walk away from this war and cutoff all support for Ukraine unless Zelensky takes any deal Trump can negotiate.

Why Putin feel weak?

It's absurd. Ukraine is low on manpower and losing ground daily on the battlefield. We and the EU are running out of weapons, especially Patriot interceptors and missiles.

The whole “Russia is attacking Poland with drones” story has already died, a mere 36 hours after the UK-EU first screeched about it, and their propaganda MSM promoted it.

The Russian news service TASS:

Poland shot down three out of the 19 drones that entered its airspace, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said.

According to him, violations of Poland’s air borders persisted throughout the night, from 11:30 p.m. local time on September 9 to 6:30 a.m. local time on September 10

Belarusian air defenses tracked unmanned aerial vehicles entering the country’s airspace last night and shot some of them down, said Pavel Muraveiko, chief of the Belarusian General Staff.

Most the escalation was from our side.

As the tide turned and Ukraine predictably began losing when Russia partially mobilized, we used constant escalation in the hopes of changing the direction things were swinging.

Examples: Long range missiles, newer gen western MBTs and the F16, stationing a huge number of troops in the Baltic states which required the Russians to put troops along the border while they are fighting in Ukraine....

How far do we want to take it?

Ultimately, Ukraine will fail for the mere reason of manpower regardless of how much money and material we send them and the mercenaries we helped them with (we more or less paid for it all and opened the airwaves and Internet for their recruitment: https://www.ildu.com.ua/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22797028996&gbraid=0aaaabak84qbw0smeyqdn8-ard73cqtq8o&gclid=cj0kcqjw5ongbhdearisafk6qjbohen5azesqtpxxpo7qw8eusgwxo4gx5oonyxuy_nqz0jlbefouccaaoatealw_wcb) have largely left, aren’t coming back, or are dead.

Ukraine will simply bleed out before Russia will. That’s what a war of attrition really boils down to.

What does Poland have to do with it?
Why send drones into its airspace?

Time to get the U.S. out of NATO, and get the U.N. out of the U.S. Let Europe deal with it all. These countries have been leeching U.S. taxpayers dry for decades, and it must end.

As far as I know, there has been no confirmation that those drones were fired by the Russians or that it was intentional. In 2023 Ukraine fired a missile that ended up hitting a grain factory in Poland.

From 2023:

Polish experts confirm missile that hit grain facility was Ukrainian

Most the escalation was from our side.

Yup, when the Soviet Union fell apart we quickly invaded...nobody. We actually, de-militarized, pulling troops from Europe.

So no, historically, escalation was from Russia, who invaded Georgia, seizing 20% of its land and now attempting to do the same with Ukraine.

Poland said 19 Russian drones breached Polish airspace.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk reported that 19 Russian drones breached Polish airspace during an overnight strike on western Ukraine

While the majority of downed drones were located near the border, two UAVs flew for more than 100 miles into Poland.

"Poland said"

Hm...for being shot down, that drone doesn't look like it received much damage. And a photo of only one drone? Please color me skeptical. I'm 78. I don't trust anything the media, our alphabet agencies, or NATO countries say. Europe only wants the U.S. to actively engage in this proxy war with Russia. We've been doing proxy wars since Korea. Time it ends, and the U.S. taxpayers not forced to fund these endless wars with unaccountable freebies.

I really don’t care about helping the Euroweenies who refused to honor a moment of silence for Charlie, claiming he said violent rhetoric.
ZFG if Russia bombs their beta butts into the Stone Age.
USA out of NATO, let them spill their blood.

I might miss some cheese tho.

And a photo of only one drone?

Plenty of pictures, including damaged Polish house

A member of the Polish Army inspecting a damaged house, after Russian drones violated Polish airspace during an attack on Ukraine and some were shot down by Poland, in Wyryki, Lublin Voivodeship, Poland,

A photograph posted on social media purporting to show a damaged drone after falling in the eastern Polish village of Czosnowka,
