Tulsi, Vance, or Rubio, what's the 2028 ticket?
Vanity ^ | 22 Aug 2025 | Self

I'd love a serious thoughtful conversation about what you think would make the best ticket in 2028. The 3 people I see being able to lead the ticket are listed. If you have others please tell me and why.

Tulsi: Someone willing to do what she believes is right regardless of the fall out. While I don't agree with her on everything, I know she's an honest person willing to do what she believes is right. And a veteran.

Vance: Amazing debater and strong conservative values. Can stand up to the media and make them look stupid.

Rubio: Before he was secretary of state I couldn't stand him, but he has far exceeded my expectations and is great in front of media. I'm squeemish on his overall idea of immigration, but for now he definitely has the right position. And honestly, he's doing a bit better than Vance on the PR front.

Vance/Tulsi, then Tulsi/DeSantis.

Unfortunately, both DeSantis and Rubio were too close to the Bush wing in the recent past. I want MAGA to stay MAGA and not get subsumed in the same way the Tea Party was taken over by turncoats.

There needs to be distance from the historical deep staters so that MAGA prevails for the next generation.

But ultimately I’m hoping DT will run again.
Even DJT will be too old for the grueling responsibility of 7+ years of reigning as president, from now (while campaigning again).

For me he ended his career when he ran as a tea party republican, then immediately hitched his wagon to Grahamnesty and McCain. If you recall, he was already the front runner for the next nomination before he used his popularity and support to try and sell us amnesty. His performance during this Trump administration has caused me to consider him again, but I still don’t trust him.

My problem with Rubio is that I think his biggest flaw is something that can’t be corrected over time. I think he isn’t very bright at all, and masks it in public settings by amplifying well-rehearsed messages. It’s the Sean Hannity approach to building a career in television.

And don’t get me wrong...I love DeSantis. He’s doing an amazing job as governor.

DeSantis is certainly an excellent executive.

His campaigning has been lackluster, especially 2024 POTUS run.

He would have to improve.

It doesn’t matter if he’d be a great president if he can’t win the election.

None are Trump.

Too early to say.

None of the above is a fine option.

Then tell me who Microsoft, Amazon, Google and META support? My guess is the one that pays them the most.

Problem with DeSantis is he was already coopted once by the deep state. And he talks like a sissy (is pitch and voice). Good policy no doubt but very weak sounding.

Deep dive on JD Vance via ThreadReader

Abandoned by his father to a troubled single mother; eventually raised by grandparents. He is then recruited from an Ivy league law school by shadow figures, a specific billionaire and a network of interests. He changes his name, writes a book about his life story, and with the support of the aforementioned – who eventually pays for the assembly of a strategic campaign influence network, becomes a Senator for 2 years before being quickly elevated into position in the White House.

Many people reading that paragraph would be familiar with the life story of Barack Hussien Obama.

However, that paragraph doesn't describe Barack H Obama. Nope, it is the right-side version of the exact same storyline, James David Vance.

On one side of the UniParty mirror we have an emotionally constructed political figure for the left. On the other side of the UniParty mirror we have an emotionally constructed political figure for the right. Each person, each emotional narrative, carrying the specific nuances to appeal to their wing of the UniParty audience. However, both are following the same playbook.

JD Vance was born James Donald Bowman in Middletown, Ohio (August 2, 1984). He then changed his name to James David Bowman. He then changed his name to James David Hamel. Eventually, in 2014, notably after Yale Law School (class of 2013) and after marrying his wife Usha, now age 30, he changed his name to write a book.

It was 2014, that’s when JD Vance was born.

Why did JD Vance change his name?

You forgot to add my ;) in the DT running in 2028 when you quoted me. Consider yourself trolled. I said that because I know it drives the Dems nuts when they see it.

Vance and Tulsi.
Rubio would need to get a promotion somehow if he keeps doing this well.

He’s not ‘likeable’ enough. The snarky DeSantis is always lurking in the wings, and people don’t like that.

I’ve been promoting Tulsi here for a couple of years, she was my first choice for VP.

There is the small issue of birth in American Samoa, where her father was also born. Her mother is from Indiana.

Not sure if this is an NBC issue.

Tulsi, Vance, or Rubio

I don't trust any of them...

I trust the Lord to pull us out of this mess, but I hope by some miracle it's Vivek who is the ONLY national figure talking about ABOLISHING a significant portion of the federal gov't.

Politically, that is the #1 PRIORITY!!!!

Only Vance for ores, but in their current jobs I admit tulsi and Marco have been fantastic. Not sure why I didn’t appreciate Marco before, he has been just great with diplomacy and explaining admin position effectively on shows.

I hope you’re just kidding around here. Because otherwise you’re off my short list for Secretary of Defense.
🙂

P.S. No offense meant. I very much admire your work in New Orleans back in 1815.
