Still not as bad as Angel Hernandez
Who could have possibly predicted this? LOL!
Well, I’m shocked.
This marks the final chapter for baseball. Throes of death. It was a good run. Just 30 years ago, there were baseball fields in the parks around here. Now the closest one is several miles away. In the 70s, in the Chicago suburbs, we could easily get enough kids together for several games a day. When we didn’t have a quorum, two of us would play fast pitch with a pinky rubber ball against a brick wall with a strike zone painted on it. All wood bats too. We probably played 16” softball as much as baseball. Easier to conscript neighbor kids because no gloves were used.
Looked good to me
Considering the number of trash calls by male Umpires, she’s right in line.
LOL!
Who cares. The first call - and we measure an umpires performance by THAT?
How did she do in the game as a whole?
I know - didn’t watch the whole game.
Enrico Palazzo says...strike...?
Hire she/her more, harder ;)
Wonder if there’s a polymarket for an MLB fan throwing a dildo on the field now?
“LOL! Was it bad? Why yes. It was!”
What more can you expect from a DEI hire?
She only missed the strike zone by a foot. I missed the All-Star game, how did the robo-umpire thing work out?
Strike zone should be fully automated. Probably will be within five years. Pitchers and hitters work way too hard at their craft to have an inconsistent strike zone screw things up. Plate umpire should get an audible ball/strike in an earpiece, or should have glasses that project the zone like you see on tv. No “challenges” like they’re messing with. Tech is way too good to not allow it in fully. Plate umpire can function as a backup if there are system issues.
Only logical retort I’ve heard is the home team playing shenanigans with it. Perhaps the tech is brought in and assigned to the crews themselves.
And the NFL should add a new “head referee” that is a group of three in the booth that can make or overturn calls with a quick unanimous buzz in.
If this was a guy it would be simply a bad call. It’s a woman and all of a sudden she’s not fit to be an umpire. I’d at least like to see her overall performance in the entire game and compare to the average. I’m sure there’s a “bad call” average.
Dear father’s, do us all a favor and love your daughters for being girls. Don’t make it obvious that you wanted a son.
LOL! That’s hysterically “historical”.
DEI umpires now? Are U F’n kidding me?
(DEI workaround)
The way to handle female umpires is to give them an earpiece that tells them what call to make. No different than female candidates during debates.
I will not ever watch a baseball game again until this BS ends. It is hard to even fathom females on the sidelines asking questions of real athletes.
