A criminal referral for Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell has just been issued to the DOJ!
He is being referred over alleged perjury related to his whopping $2.5 billion building renovation project.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna announced on X:
I am criminally referring Jerome Powell to the DOJ to investigate perjury regarding his crazy $2.5BN building.— Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (@RepLuna) July 17, 2025
This is huge…
To give you some context, the Federal Reserve renovation project has skyrocketed from the initial $1.9 billion to $2.5 billion.
Jerome Powell is being suspected of fraud related to the extremely suspicious building project.
If it turns out that way, then he could very well be removed from his position as Federal Reserve chair.
He also could be prosecuted if he did, in fact, lie to the Senate about the luxury features he testified on in defense of the renovation project.
The New York Post provided more background:
Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell defended his $2.5 billion headquarters renovation project near the National Mall Thursday — insisting that “we take seriously the responsibility to be good stewards of public resources.”
“We have taken great care to ensure the project is carefully overseen since it was first approved by the Board in 2017,” Powell claimed in a letter to White House director of management and budget Russ Vought, even though the project is already about $600 million over budget
Powell has faced a firestorm of Republican criticism over the lavish renovation — as President Trump demands that Powell consider resigning after refusing to lower interest rates.
Just one hour prior to Rep. Luna’s announcement, Federal Housing Director Bill Pulte posted:
President Trump also recently hinted that Jerome Powell could lose his position over this.

Only one solution, balanced budget amendment associated with significant (30+%) middle class tax cuts. Government is CLEARLY awash in taxpayer money, they are reckless as DOGE pointed out.
What are they building, a NFL stadium? I don’t think even they cost this much and that’s a new build. A renovation?

$2.5B. From corporate life in the private sector I can quickly ramble off a lot of questions to question this cost. Without any data, I know any of us could cut large chunks of taxpayer dollars off the cost.
But it really doesn’t matter until someone is punished. Prosecuted and jailed for for squandering the money taken from us. DODGE is meant to find the waste and stop it. There needs to be a highly active and pissed off set of attorneys going after the malfeasance.
Compare how Powell handled this building project to how Trump handled the US Embassy building in Jerusalem.
Trump did everything he could to save taxpayers’ money. Powell ... just the opposite.

The crime? Running both over budget, and failure to complete the project within a timely period, on a project deemed not worthy.
Trump would tolerate neither one of these conditions in his own operations, So this is criminal waste, abuse and fraud.
Powell didn’t understand the timeless rules of power.
You bend and bow to whomever occupies the seat of Caesar.
If you don’t, the powers that be will come after you.
Had he bent to Trump, his trespasses would have been given a pass.
