Following the fall of the Assad regime, Israel has established a new “red line” in Syria, launching major airstrikes on Damascus on July 16 to warn the new government against attacking the Druze minority in the south. The strikes, which targeted military headquarters, came after clashes erupted between Druze and other armed groups near Suwayda.

Was the new Syrian governement testing just how hard they could harass and attack the Druze before Israel bombed them?
They appear to have found out.
Israel has been fighting Syrian sponsored terrorists for almost 80 years, in addition to multiple Syrian invasions. That Trump has loosened sanctions on Syria’s al Qaeda, now being pumped as a moderate version of ISIS, doesn’t make it any less an enemy of Israel, or the US. It’s a little amusing how all the Assad supporters are now backing Assad’s blood enemy, the current al Qaeda regime. Perhaps what they have in common is Jew hatred.

Who hasn't Israel been fighting through their 80 years in the Middle East?

That Trump has loosened sanctions on Syria doesn’t make it any less an enemy of Israel
That's the plan, Zhang Fei, and Netanyahu knows it. President Trump is giving Syria a chance with the goal of including them in the Abraham Accords and expanding peace in the Middle East. But, apparently, Netanyahu is still allergic to peace.
.
Israel already demolished most of Assad’s weapons stockpiles and air defense systems. They did that immediately after he left so they wouldn’t fall into the hands of the new terrorist leaders and be used against Israel.
What We Know About Ahmed al-Shara, Syria’s Interim President
US had a $10 million bounty on his head as a terrorist leader.
Born in Saudi Arabia to a Syrian Sunni Muslim family from the Golan Heights , Mr. al-Shara is the child of Syrian exiles, according to Arab media reports. In the late 1980s, his family moved back to Syria, and in 2003, he went to neighboring Iraq to join Al Qaeda and fight the American occupation. There, he spent several years in a U.S. prison, according to American officials.
Mr. al-Shara later emerged in Syria around the start of the civil war and formed the Nusra Front, an affiliate of Al Qaeda. He eventually broke ties with Al Qaeda, and the Nusra Front evolved into Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.
After sweeping to power in Syria, Mr. al-Shara has seemed to be trying to distance himself from his militant past.
Per Wiki:
Under al-Shara’a’s leadership, al-Nusra Front and Jabhat Fateh al-Sham perpetrated a series of war crimes, suicide bombings, forced conversions, ethnic cleansing and sectarian massacres against Syria’s Christian, Alawite, Shia and Druze minorities. These included the January 2012 al-Midan bombing, which killed 26 people and wounded 63.
In 2015, al-Nusra fighters killed Druze villagers during the Qalb Loze massacre.
Al-Nusra was also suspected of carrying out the 10 May 2012 Damascus bombings killing 55 people and injuring over 400, and the February 2013 Damascus bombings which killed 83 people, most of them civilians and children, and were condemned by the Syrian opposition.
In June 2013 al-Nusra claimed the “storming and cleansing of Hatla” during which 30 to 60 Shia civilians were killed as part of a wider campaign of sectarian cleansing in the Deir ez-Zor Governorate.
On 12 May 2016, rebels led by al-Nusra Front massacred 42 civilians and seven NDF militiamen while kidnapping up to 70 people after taking control of the Alawite village of Zara’a in Southern Hama.
Al-Nusra was also behind suicide bombings in Lebanon directed against Alawites and Shia populations, including the 2015 Tripoli, Lebanon bombings (for which the group claimed responsibility) and was suspected of carrying out the July 2013 Beirut bombing and the 2013 Iranian embassy bombing in Beirut.
AND ISRAEL AND THE DRUZE ARE TO TRUST THIS GUY?
.
“Netanyahu is still allergic to peace.”
Or, maybe Netanyahu is allergic to being betrayed repeatedly be peace agreements that the other side always seem to violate; and, allergic to betrayal by the US under democrat administrations. Those kinds of allergies require him to always be on alert and proactively protect Israel as one would agains any allergies..
Is the Syrian People’s Front for or against the Druze Front of Syria? Or will they both be betrayed by the Popular People’s Front of Syria? Stay tuned.
Gotta FA to FO.
From the River to the Sea, Israel says it belongs to me.
