The al Qaeda regime running Syria amplified the hype over drones, talked about how drones overcame the Syria Air Force. In reality, the Syrian Air Force was mostly grounded, and its Russian sponsor had likely diverted most of its resources to Ukraine, such that its planes in Syria were essentially scarecrows, placed to induce fear, but impotent due to a lack of parts and ammo. A country with control of enemy airspace can kill its drone operators at will.
