I have been meaning to write about the Jeffrey Epstein situation, which I think has become an unfortunate distraction. Thus, the New York Times headlines, “Trump’s base is in open revolt over the Epstein case.” This delights them.
In my opinion, while Epstein was obviously a horrific person and was at one time well-connected, the political dimensions of the scandal have been absurdly overblown. Current demands for a release of the “Epstein files,” which can only mean the investigative files prepared by law enforcement, are misguided. Raw criminal investigation files are never released publicly, for excellent reasons.
Any release of materials at this point could only be highly selective and would be improper even on that basis. And selective releases could never satisfy the conspiracy theorists, and would only fuel demands for more. So President Trump is right. It is time to move on.

I never said I was not supportive of Trumps agenda! Jeezy. I’m just pointing out that this Epstein fiasco of his own making will make the democrats take Patriot Missile shots at his every position or comment. Reverse blackmail.
So sick of this story. The movement is destroying itself over something that can be investigated properly rather than throwing paper into the wind.
Take a breath and let it get investigated the right way.

His real supporters are all the people who voted for him. All of them. He has a winning coalition and ALL of those people had their reasons they chose Trump. They matter, and they will find that out the hard way at midterms if they keep this belligerence up toward supporters. You can’t herd cats by beating them with a stick.
People are being naive if they think that any of those voters are expendable and bad guys who don’t matter now. Trump should be thinking about how to calm this down instead of burning it down.
I do not care if he gives us the Epstein files. Others do. “Just don’t mouth off on social media and piss on my leg and tell me it is raining” when we damn well can already see that. Then after the WH mess up, turn around and blame supporters because your people made this mess happen and now you blame them for your mess.”
That does not exist at this time, nor in the future. I suppose that for three months, once every four years, that yes there is a binary true choice state, but that’s hardly the math lab 98% of the time.

Start cooperating with the Senate Finance Committee on Epstein and Leon Black. If you don’t, you can bet the issue is going to come with Ben Black in charge of around 50 billion dollars related to Ukraine . Trump has suddenly reversed course on Ukraine.
Black still hasnt been voted on.
If everything is released, there can’t be a trial because the defense would argue it would be impossible to get an objective, fair jury.
Yes indeed. But most people don't seem to understand that, and so assume that the non-release of those files is corruption/coverup unique to Epstein.
At some point, you just have to say you're never going to convince the people who chose to remain ignorant, and move on.
Asmongold specifically said that he had not be contact by the Trump administration. But others have. Charlie Kirk, for one.

It's worth noting that the people who voted for him did not do so for all the same reasons, don't agree on all the issues, and that it is impossible for him to please all of them all the time. I mean, I voted for the guy too, but I butt heads all the time with others here who voted for him.
I do think it is kind of funny to see so many supporters who always mocked others for getting angry at his off the cuff comments now getting angry about this. Seems that being a sensitive snowflake can apply to some in MAGA as well.
Special Counsel. Offload it to a person who is totally trusted to weed out fact from fiction. Make it clear this will take time.
Then shut up and stop talking to media so much and for pity sakes, quit blaming people who voted for you. Carefully weed out people giving you bad advice. Expose and shame dark players who seek to lead you and backstab you to back deep state desires in budget battles etc.
What is amusing about this whole thing is that the Trump angle is that we should pay attention to what he wants us to pay attention to.
This morning he was talking about how we should pay attention to the auto pen issue INSTEAD of the Epstein thing. Does he think we are incapable of paying attention to more than one thing at a time? The autopen thing is interesting and possibly criminal, but it’s gong nowhere unless someone starts talking.
What is it with people who think they can tell us WHAT to think, and then they get angry when we don’t? The visceral reaction is what has piqued the response by a lot of people.
He is doing so much positive stuff that I wish he would focus on that. And leave the “Biden sucked so bad” stuff at the door. Biden is gone. His stuff is getting fixed. I want Trump to look forward. He makes it difficult to do that if every comment out of his mouth is wasted on the past.
You would think the Attorney General for the United States would know that? Eh? She trotted this out to the Rose Garden in a ceremony for krikes sake! In binders.
Some promises are made without knowing how the facts. Then the promise needs to be walked back. MAGA needs to give President Trump the grace to do so.
