It’s good to be on alert, but if Xi has lost control, it’s because the pro-business moderates have seized power back.

There is certainly a cliche that a dictator who has political trouble at home may engage in foreign activity to distract his people. But Xi could have done that under Biden. It might have been an effective strategy at the time. But Trump is clearly showing with Iran and with Russia that now is not a good time for some country to make a power grab. At this time, any attempt would blow up in Xi’s face and make his situation worse. He is not a fool. He’ll keep his activity within his domestic sphere.

Xi’s whole future depends upon the loyalty of the secret police and the military. If he loses them, he’s toast.

I know Gordon Chang from the John Batchelor show maybe ten-fifteen years ago. Gordon Chang is always predicting imminent earth-shaking events in China. So far, none of them has occurred.

The Chinese party doesn’t mess around. I’m thinking that if the 3 Gorges dam breaks, the Chinese might feel a real pinch to change many in the party.

It's how things change there - to be expected. Xi has had his run.

He could activate Chinese agents in the U.S. to damage power lines, poison reservoirs bomb shopping centers and start wildfires, using agents that came into America under Joe Biden, Chang wrote.

If Chang believes this will occur, I don't believe a word of what he is "predicting".

Recent years have shown that Gordon Chang is an expert in promoting Gordon Chang - and little else.

Xi’s term as Emperor is no doubt coming to an end. Whether his forced retirement leads to a return of the pro-business corrupt authoritarianism of previous decades or a new form of military dictatorship remains to be seen. One thing is certain: the Chinese government is not going to give up its Orwellian surveillance state - a model which has attracted many admirers in the West.

I don’t doubt Gordon Chang’s sincerity, but he’s been predicting the failure of China for as long as I can remember. “Hyman Roth has been dying of the same heart attack for the last 20 years”

We need to be careful about trying to read the tea leaves in China.

Doncha just love those Dem friends, relatives and coworkers of yours?

And their cognitively declining Biden.

Last week, the CMC, run by General Zhang Youxia, held all the power.

Whether G Chang is reporting the truth or not - many other sources are reporting the same news - Xi is now demoted by the Party to spokesman. Who will come out on top is anyone’s guess. General Zhang Youxia, is on top right now.
