A big Nebraska meat packer lost lots of workers after an ICE raid. Guess what happened next.

Remember this story out of Omaha where the feds used E-verify to track down more than 100 illegal aliens using fake IDs? And that those illegals allegedly pulled box cutters on ICE agents?

===============================================================

ICE uses E-Verify system to nab over 100 illegal aliens at Omaha meat packer 🤔 E-Verify was meant to screen out illegals from taking American jobs, but ICE's recent raid on Glenn Valley Foods in Omaha, Nebraska, shows it doesn't really work.

NOTTHEBEE.COM

https://notthebee.com/article/ice-nabs-75-80-illegal-immigrants-in-raid-on-meat-packing-plant-in-omaha-that-used-e-verify-to-screen-employees ============================================================

We were told this city would be in turmoil. The plant wouldn't know what to do without their illegal workforce. There would no recovery from this.

Anyways, cut to a few days later:

But ... but ... I was told that companies like this were forced to hire illegal labor because these are jobs that Americans won't do! Turns out, these are jobs that Americans and LEGAL immigrants WOULD be doing, if it weren't for illegal aliens taking all the jobs and driving down wages.

It's almost like the entire point of our effectively open borders has been to drive Americans out of jobs that illegal immigrants will do for half the price.

But, hey, at least the price of beef has gone down since then, right?

Right?

More from that NBC News link above:

News of the ICE raid this week sent a crippling, chilling effect across the city. The local library and community college closed early on Tuesday. Construction sites and other workplaces have been desolate. South Omaha's business district, known as a vibrant Hispanic and immigrant enclave, shut down immediately after the raid. As of Friday, some had reopened.

Yes, and then by Thursday, Americans hearing of the new jobs at the packer showed up to fill them. A real "chilling" story for Omaha, Nebraska.

>> don’t undo all the great work he did to gain support of Hispanics by over-reaching

Not buying what you’re selling. We have heard over and over again how much native and legal Hispanics HATE illegal immigration — THEY won’t stop voting for conservatives.

And illegals? Well, there better not be any votes to lose, because there damn well better not be any illegals voting for anyone!

‘Those people who have become integrated into small rural towns for years - even decades - should not be targeted”

People who have been in town for years yet are still illegal aliens are NOT integrated. And integrated or not, paying taxes or not is irrelevant anyway, they should be expellled.
Maga won precisely because Trump campaigned on that hard line. The leftist and Rino narrative that he should now soften his stance, thus creating a whole new corrupt multi tiers justice system, in order to keep votes is ludicrous.
You should be ashamed of your sob story parrotting a propaganda as if it was fact.

It seems like their entire English vocabulary is “F^ck” and “You”.

There could/should have been a lot more arrests than there were. The gal who refused to get out of the road should have been one of them, as should have the rock throwers.

Sounds like what they did with the Haitian immigrants. It’s a racket that benefits those who charge crazy prices for rent while treating the workers as slaves who they transport to work and back.

Sounds nice but probably not going to work that way. The law is the law. I’m so happy it’s finally being enforced. Eventually we’ll be used to it being enforced just like any law. People can always get H1B visas with an employer sponsor. That’s how our legal system works.

Tyson Foods is notorious for hiring illegals. Monett Missouri is packed full of illegals. Even celebrate Mex Holidays with parades.

The link you provided with a different article has a paragraph in which I am not sure I understand the last sentence:

“As of Friday night, criminal charges had not been filed against those arrested in the raid. About a dozen of them have already been deported or transferred out of state. At least 63 others were taken to the Lincoln County Detention Center. The county’s sheriff, Jerome Kramer, said none of the detainees are “violent offenders” and he hopes to help them “complete the process to correct their work status and reunite them with families or employers.” “

I live in Mississippi near a bunch of chicken processing plants. In the early 90’s the chicken plants fired their local workforces en masse and replaced them with illegals, they’ve been there since then. The locals went on welfare and it’s pretty much the same now. It wasn’t lack of workers, it was that the illegals worked cheaper. Nobody should fool themselves that there is a lack of workers, hiring an illegal is strictly about money. They never integrate into local society, then rent a broken down house and put 5 to a room, you never see them outside unless it’s to go to Walmart or work. They contribute nothing good other than Walmart now carries mexican coke because they won’t drink our stuff. They should ALL be deported, the only one who benefits from them being here are multi billion dollar corporations.

The Dems know this operation is an assault on their power base. They will lose electoral votes and congressional votes if enforcing immigration law becomes precedent and a job requirement for any future president. States like CA, Illinois, and NY would become swing states. The Dems would then actually have to start appealing to American values to win elections. We’re in a low-grade civil war right now. Trump has the law on his side. The Dems have intimidation. We’ll see.

“Guess what happened next.”

The owner was arrested for multiple violations of employment law? Or is that too much to hope for?

Hiring more than ten undocumented immigrants is a violation of US Code Title 8 and can lead to significant penalties for employers in the United States.
Criminal Penalties:
Pattern or Practice Violations: Employers engaging in a “pattern or practice” of violations, meaning regular, repeated, and intentional acts of hiring unauthorized workers, can face criminal penalties.
Fines and Imprisonment: For each unauthorized alien hired in a pattern or practice of violations, employers can be fined up to $3,000 and/or face imprisonment for not more than six months for the entire pattern or practice.
Hiring 10 or more unauthorized aliens in a 12-month period: If an employer hires at least 10 individuals with actual knowledge that they are unauthorized aliens within a 12-month period, they may be fined, imprisoned for not more than five years, or both.
Civil Penalties:
Paperwork Violations (I-9 violations): Employers face civil money penalties for failing to properly complete, retain, and/or make Forms I-9 available for inspection.
Fines can range from $281 to $2,789 per violation.
Knowingly Hiring or Continuing to Employ Unauthorized Workers: If an employer knowingly hires or continues to employ unauthorized aliens, they may face civil penalties.
First offense: $698 – $5,579 per violation.
Second offense: $5,579 – $13,946 per violation.
Third offense: $8,369 – $27,894 per violation.

ICE was never intended to be a free security firm for scofflaw employers.

These companies don’t want to lose their slave labor. They are content keeping the public in the dark about it, and just charging higher prices for their meat products.
