What needs to happen is simple, but, at least for now, looks pretty suspect if you ask me.
Russia would need to get so exhausted from the war that its lines collapse.
After losing 1 million casualties, thousands of tanks and artillery pieces, and billions of dollars in bombers and drones, Moscow would one day see its war effort collapse in a mix of exhaustion, anger about the overall direction of the conflict, and a society that had had enough.
This would allow Ukraine to reclaim the initiative and retake large swaths of territory.
But from here, things get even more fictional.
At the same time, the hope is that Russian society would come out en masse against Russian President Putin and dispose of him from power.

so this is Russian Propaganda ,LOL
In WWI, this is what happened to Russia, which is why the Mensheviks, and then the Bolsheviks, took over. In WWII, the opposite happened, the Soviet Union lost much more than in the previous war but refused to quit, and eventually not only removed the Germans but took over eastern and central Europe. Putin is much more like Stalin than like Nicholas, so Ukraine doesn’t have a chance in a war of attrition.
If this were the US, especially under President Trump, the term ‘winning’ would be replaced with ‘quagmire’.
The focus would be on our daily losses in people, tanks, planes, boats, etc. etc. etc.
Where do they find these total pessimists?
“Davis made a bleak prediction that is hard to disagree with: “Manpower, air power, air defense, strategic drone capacity, industrial capacity, and above all manpower, are all irrevocably in Russia’s favor. Defeat for Ukraine cannot be avoided; only delayed.””
The Russians think they are winning the war, or Vlad the Invader would have made a peace deal already.
The pundits believe since the Russians have steadily taken ground, and essentially won almost every land battle, that the Russians are winning the war.
So the Russians are ‘winning’ the war, but so were the NAZI’s in 1942 (the loss at Stalingrad in 1943 changing the tide), and the Japanese in early 1942 (midway being the turning point). Winning, and won, are two very different things. The only thing, IMHO, that is indisputably winning the Russian-Ukraine conflict is China, and Death.
It has also been obvious that the West is out of money and weapons to send to Ukraine while at the same time Russia has mobilized it's once dormant military industrial base.
The Ukraine faces a serious risk of military and economic implosion as the military and financial aid that has been keeping the Ukraine on life support is drying up and Russia is ramping up serious attacks on critical infrastrucure.
And yet, despite these obvious dangers to the Ukraine and it's people, foreign interests are inexplicably conspiring to keep the death and destruction rolling on until the bitter end
The situation has gotten so serious one has to ask why is the death and destruction in the Ukrainian war being needlessly prolonged when everyone knows the war is a lost cause.
Sure. Russian propaganda is why NATO and Ukraine teamed up before any invasion planned by Russia to ignore NATO agreements WITH Russia along with the complicit rhinocrat warmongers in our own “ILLustrious” congress forcing the American taxpayers to foot the majority of the bills.
Russia is definitely not winning in Ukraine.
They still occupy those 18% of Ukraine, just like 3 years ago.
Nothing has changed, except for a few lost Ukrainian villages.
They won't have the men to do it.
Notice the difference in the title and the article.
“NATO cannot stop Russia”
Well, NATO is barely involved.
He compares Russian resources to Ukrainian resources (well he does mention NATO economy growth versus Russian economy growth as a throw away line).
If NATO countries - ie Europe - step up, then Russia can ‘lose’.
But it really depends on what you mean by ‘win’ and ‘lose’.
Eventually the two sides will have to negotiate a peace (or obliterate us all in a nuclear war). Eventually borders will be established. It is just a question of where.
Total collapse of either side is still unlikely.
P.S. Notice he neglects the massive Russian losses from last year and the incursion into Kursk.
Just more classical Kremlin Bolshevik gaslighting as seen for the past 100 or so years. When you can’t win just lie and hope your Fifth Column of support will undermine opposition to Russian revanchism.
NATO isn’t even fighting this war. Militarily or economically. If it was the Russian economy would be in ruins, again, and the entire Russian military destroyed like the flagship Moskva and those strategic bombers. The Kremlin and it’s useful fools best be careful what they wish for. They might just get it.
“Putin is much more like Stalin than like Nicholas, so Ukraine doesn’t have a chance in a war of attrition.”
Putin is more like the last man with any semblance of sanity left in the room. When he goes, the ones he’s been holding back will be free to use the big guns. And they will.
And, why mention NATO? Neither party is in NATO so they should just bugger off.
This sort of ideological crappola is what all “good ideas” degrade to. NATO was set up to protect Europe, not fight the USSR worldwide. But, when the first goal is in hand the egomaniacs in charge look for something else to go after — to justify expanding their personal power. Look at any union or action group. They start as a good idea, but then expand and corrupt for power.
Trump has finally realized that Zelensky and other European leaders are not serious about ending this war in a timely manner but want to keep fighting until there are no Ukrainians left. So he will now negotiate only with Putin. He is currently letting Putin gain more ground so that the Europeans will get the message. He will soon tell Putin that he can keep Crimea and the four oblasts and that the rest of Ukraine will be NATO-free. In return, he will demand that Russia stop the war. Zelensky and the Europeans will have no choice but to accept these terms.
The proxy war, which began in 2014, is being needlessly prolonged, because the NATO countries don’t have a face-saving exit. They are setting up Trump as the scapegoat for losing the war.
NATO expansion was the primary cause of this war. The overthrow of the duly elected government of Ukraine engineered by Victoria Nuland in 2014 provoked the unopposed annexation of Crimea. Obama/Biden did essentially nothing. Since then, NATO has repeatedly supported Ukraine’s entry into NATO, crossing Russia’s red line that has been expressed since 2008.
Ukraine will not be a member of NATO. Russia now occupies 20% of Ukraine and continues to advance. Ukraine’s negotiating position grows weaker by the day. NATO says they don’t want to reward Putin for his aggression. But what is the alternative? Fight to the last Ukrainian? Escalate the war by supplying Ukraine with the wherewithal to attack deep into Russia, including the degradation of their strategic forces that could result in a direct military confrontation between NATO and Russia and possible nuclear exchange?
That may well be the outcome, but the Europeans, the Dems, and the neocons will blame Trump for losing the war and rewarding aggression. Trump will be blamed for losing Ukraine.
ZEEPER FOLLIES PINGLIST!(((PING!)))
The assertion -- without any proof -- is itself laughable. In the mess which is the war between non-NATO Ukraine and non-NATO Russia which Secretary of State Rubio termed a "proxy war," simplification of the complex is ill advised.
As to "Russian Propaganda," as asserted without proof by "butlerwweave," here are hotlinks to suggest otherwise:
Domain: nationalsecurityjournal.orgIf an assertion without proof is to be considered, then one must conclude that "Russian propaganda" is being produced in the State of Delaware, and that said producer openly shows its address, names and contacts. And one must further conclude that our President Trump's administration is allowing said propagandist to operate in the open, without action taken against them by our nation's President and his administration.

This is a proxy war. NATO is heavily engaged with up to a half a trillion dollars invested so far. Without NATO support including arms, ammunition, real time satellite intel used for targeting, training Ukraine’s military, etc., this war would have been over a longtime ago.
And NATO expansion was the primary cause of the war. Are you advocating for direct NATO involvement? How do you prevent an escalation to a nuclear war, which all sides are the losers. No one wins a nuclear war.
