The Media is the Devil's Tool Box Discouragement

Disappointment brings discouragement. Constant failure to realize our plans or expectations will cause us to lose confidence and hope, and inability to handle disappointment becomes a great tool. The following story, given to me by a friend and mentor 45 years ago, written by Walter Knight, illustrates.

Discouragement

It was advertised that the Devil was going to put his tools up for sale. On the day of the sale the tools were placed for public inspection, each being marked with its sale price.

They were a treacherous lot of implements.... Hatred, Envy, Jealousy, Deceit, Lying, Pride, and so on comprised the outfit. Laid apart from the rest was a harmless looking tool, well worn, and priced very high.

“What is the name of this tool?” asked one of the purchasers, pointing to it.

“That is discouragement” tersely replied the Devil.

“Why have you priced it so high?”

“Because it is more useful to me than the others. I can pry open and get inside a man's heart with that, when I cannot get near him with other tools. Once I get inside, I can make him do what I choose. It is badly worn because I use it on almost everyone, since few people know it belongs to me.”

There are several things I hope I am wrong about. I hope this nation isn't as far gone as I think. I hope I am not as mentally, physically ill as I think I am . I hope my children aren't as cruel and confused as they seem to be. I hope there is a God in heaven and he loves all of you as much as you believe he does.

No need to worry about that.

I hope you come in a peek at Free Republic from time to time. I apologize to the anguish I caused you, such was not my intent.

Living in Oregon, I would assume you are under a fiercer and constant barrage of leftist/woke influence than I am in Georgia. Being continuously worn down by those unholy thugs has taken away your hope. It is better to be surrounded by like-minded people than to endure what you must have experienced. I hope you vote with your feet, and move to some place that isn't so far gone as your current environment.

Georgia is a good state, pretty far from the rotting influences of proximity to California and other places along the "left coast". Of course, the big cities have a good deal of rot; but, the outlying small towns are still very conservative. Come on, move out of there.

I do know that this leftist rot is creeping in everywhere. I fear this Nation will collapse in the not so distant future. I don't know the time frame; but, I know people of our age may not live long enough to experience the worst. This collapse can not be avoided. Small islands of sanity can offer some refuge, perhaps for long enough.

Keep your Faith. Jesus said that His Kingdom is not of this world. He also said that those who follow Him will suffer while living here. Obviously, He wasn't just whistling Dixie.
