Winning 2025: Check the Latest Jobs Numbers, the DOW, and Other Good News

Democrats have been trying to attack President Donald Trump over the economy.

The problem with this tactic is that they keep getting refuted by the facts.

Another big fact knocked out their narrative on Friday: the latest jobs numbers.

Employers across the U.S. added 177,000 jobs to non-farm payrolls in April.

🚨 CNBC: "Nonfarm payrolls — a GREATER 177,000. We were expecting... 133,000." pic.twitter.com/cs4TLSAvs1— Rapid Response 47 (@RapidResponse47) May 2, 2025

That's a "better than expected" number; they were thinking it was going to be around 133,000.

Unemployment remained the same at 4.2 percent.

Economist Stephen Moore pointed to the household survey, which showed an even larger gain, with 436,000 more Americans reporting employment in April. Moore called it an "amazing report," explaining that the labor force participation rate also increased.

.@StephenMoore reacts to the jobs report: "436,000 increase in the number of people who are employed. So, this is an amazing report... The labor force participation rate rose. So, this is a very strong number." pic.twitter.com/CuAPwD52Yn— Rapid Response 47 (@RapidResponse47) May 2, 2025

He pointed out how the media had been melting down about the market about two weeks ago, with concerns over tariffs.

Now, the market was up again, yet you don't see that headline.

Fox's Charles Payne observed that the jobs where you might think there could be a hit with tariffs — transportation and warehousing — were up.

PAYNE: “As I look at this initially, the one thing that really jumps out to me, that I love – transportation and warehousing… up 29,000… maybe some of this manufacturing, some of those deals that the White House has announced–maybe we’re starting to see that already play out.” pic.twitter.com/rF0XHYEEZF— Rapid Response 47 (@RapidResponse47) May 2, 2025

He thought the effects of Trump bringing jobs back could have positively affected the numbers.

This seems to show that the economy is strong despite tariff concerns. That's even before the Ukraine mineral deal or any of the trade deals being worked out, as Fox's Maria Bartiromo said. Those will be next.

.@MariaBartiromo: “As @POTUS would say, it’s going to be the best economy anybody has ever seen. Look, we've got a market that is reflecting that." pic.twitter.com/kGe86Hq83Z— Rapid Response 47 (@RapidResponse47) May 2, 2025

China now sounds amenable to working things out as its economy faces upheaval, with workers in the street protesting. They have many workers who have been laid off or who have not been paid because orders from China have been cut back, and that's affecting their companies.

China is already quietly exempting some U.S. imports from tariffs. Bartiromo said that news was contributing to the rally in the market.

We'll have to see how the deals go. But it sounds like China, the biggest question, is already going to be anxious to make a deal so their economy doesn't implode and Xi Jinping holds onto power.

Sp500 is more over-valued now than at top of market in 1929 before the crash.

I was traveling all day yesterday in my car. Does anyone know what the job participation rate did in April?

In April 2025, the labor force participation rate was 62.6%, showing little change from previous months. The employment-population ratio stood at 60.0%, also remaining relatively stable.
