‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ wants fans to do the time warp again for its 50th anniversary.
The musical cult classic’s half-century milestone will be celebrated with a new 4K Ultra remaster that will be released in theaters and on Blu-ray later this year.
Released in 1975, the movie stars Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon as a newly engaged couple who seek help at the castle of gender-bending Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry) when their car breaks down.
“Rocky Horror” was based on the musical play by Richard O’Brien with a screenplay by O’Brien and director Jim Sharman, and produced by Lou Adler and Michael White.
Since then, the movie has become famous for its midnight showings and audience participation.

Did you remember to bring your toast?
That movie was extremely popular back in the 70’s and 80’s.
It wasn’t something I was running out to see, but to each his own for a fun time.
However, jury is still out on whether this movie or this kind of movie would be embraced by the young (under 35) people of today. There may be some dated references or parodies that the kids aren’t familiar with, but some of the jokes are likely to be timeless, if that kind of theater is your style.
LoL. I was dating a girl who wanted to go to one of those midnight showings. We had heard they were rowdy before we went, but it exceeded our expectations.
It’s just a jump to the left...
Naaa, I brought the squirt gun.
I’m old enough to remember when Rocky Horror Picture Show was weird and outrageous
Now the grocery clerk bagging fruits and vegetables at my local supermart dresses and acts that way and sports a multi colored hairdo featuring color tones never seen in nature accented by tats and body jewelry that would put a 1960s National Geographic’s African tribesman or Amazon head hunter photo spread to shame
CHICKEN JOCKEY
I didn’t get it then.
I still don’t get it now.
a freak show if you ask me...
It’s astounding.
Time is fleeting.
Madness takes its toll.
Rocky Horror Picture Show PING
I was never into the cult aspects of the film, but Tim Curry has a great voice and is a good actor (as well as being a normal man). Plus you got to see Susan Sarandon’s hooters before they became 38 extra long.
I loved the songs, music and energy! lol

The actor who said that in the movie also played James Bond nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld in Diamonds are Forever.
I don’t think I ever watched it sober.
That’s a different flick.
You are correct, sir!
He was also in You Only Live Twice.

Yeah, I’d question whether young’uns would react favorably to a remake. No idea, really.
Durka durka durka...
