Once again, the failing New York Times is running interference and burying the real story to protect their preferred narrative. An article headlined "Missteps, Equipment Problems and a Common but Risky Practice Led to a Fatal Crash," which is about January's devastating crash at Reagan National Airport, is a textbook example of mainstream media malpractice.
An honest headline would have read, "Helicopter Pilot Ignored Multiple Safety Warnings Before Fatal Crash."
The liberal paper of record spent roughly a thousand words dancing around the obvious truth: A helicopter pilot directly caused this tragedy by ignoring multiple explicit warnings. But that wouldn't fit their preferred story about "systemic failures," would it?
Let me spell out what the Times buried deep in their article: The Black Hawk pilot received clear, explicit warnings about altitude from her co-pilot. The co-pilot explicitly instructed her to turn away from the passenger jet. And what did she do? She ignored those warnings and flew straight into the path of an American Airlines flight carrying 64 innocent people.
"The Black Hawk was 15 seconds away from crossing paths with the jet. Warrant Officer Eaves then turned his attention to Captain Lobach.
He told her he believed that air traffic control wanted them to turn left, toward the east river bank.
Turning left would have opened up more space between the helicopter and Flight 5342, which was heading for Runway 33 at an altitude of roughly 300 feet.
She did not turn left."

This just proves the lamestream media is an enemy of the American public.
BTTT
The Blackhawk copilot ignored explicit warnings about HER altitude from her INSTRUCTOR.

Their preferred story was about about “systemic failures.”

My question still goes unanswered: what is the military doing flying training exercises in the busiest air corridor in North America?
Definitely not the headline or story we would see if a white male had been at the controls.
The entire crew of the chopper effed up. I taught sailors to run nuclear submarine engine rooms you explained what was going to happen, you told them why it’s going to happen, then while you’re right there to stop them if they eff it up, no one did. I ran submarines and taught other younger men to do it to. Apparently this was screwed up. One goes you all go. EOS
Not really a training exercise...it was the pilot’s annual “NVG check ride”.
“...PAT25 originated from Davison Army Airfield (DAA), Fort Belvoir, Virginia, at 1845 EST on a visual flight rules (VFR) flight plan for the pilot’s annual standardization evaluation with the use of night vision goggles. Night visual meteorological conditions prevailed in the area of DCA at the time of the accident.”

Check rides are training. I’d have to give her a down.
Evaluation/”re-testing” that yes can result in a ‘down”. Army fully qualified pilots are subject to “annuals”. (requals).
As are all military pilots. Neither will have to worry about that now.
Based on that, it also proves that everyone who pays the mainstream media for the privilege of being entertained by them is guilty of aiding and abetting treason.
Correct.

Now, this question needs to be answered: Did her White House contacts have anything to do with her being placed in that position?
From what I’ve read it appears not.
She had to keep her certification up to date and it was time.................
The person flying the helicopter is at fault. Period.
The get the hell out of dodge plan for the DC folks who believe their asses are worth more than everyone else in case of WW3 want to know the helicopters will be successful in evacuating them. Wouldn’t want Chuck Schumer and Pelosi to be inconvenienced.
They must be making money pushing fake news.
