My question still goes unanswered: what is the military doing flying training exercises in the busiest air corridor in North America?

Not really a training exercise...it was the pilot’s annual “NVG check ride”.

“...PAT25 originated from Davison Army Airfield (DAA), Fort Belvoir, Virginia, at 1845 EST on a visual flight rules (VFR) flight plan for the pilot’s annual standardization evaluation with the use of night vision goggles. Night visual meteorological conditions prevailed in the area of DCA at the time of the accident.”

The get the hell out of dodge plan for the DC folks who believe their asses are worth more than everyone else in case of WW3 want to know the helicopters will be successful in evacuating them. Wouldn’t want Chuck Schumer and Pelosi to be inconvenienced.

That was my question early on. This woman supposedly had only 45 hours of stick time, that’s a zero in such heavily used air space by important people.

I think she had political ties that helped her out in flying there.

My question is why didn’t the instructor pilot take control and force a direction change? It’s possible he did at the last second only to be fought by the DEI honey.

And doing it with some of their navigation equipment turned off.
