The entire crew of the chopper effed up. I taught sailors to run nuclear submarine engine rooms you explained what was going to happen, you told them why it’s going to happen, then while you’re right there to stop them if they eff it up, no one did. I ran submarines and taught other younger men to do it to. Apparently this was screwed up. One goes you all go. EOS
The person flying the helicopter is at fault. Period.
Not just the crew.
ATC, too.
Spot on. Mostly.
Undisciplined personnel manning an aircraft on this class of flight - ‘training’ or otherwise - have zero margin for error and - indisputably - bear much of the responsibility for the crash.
‘Much.’ I am especially more critical of their leaders.
Unmentioned is who put them in the aircraft and opened such a flight corridor to 2nd & 3rd class airmen, not only putting crew & aircraft at risk, but the public.
It is not only for the female pilot IMHO, but for ‘others’ that the NYT runs interference.
Outrage should be the order of the day, especially from the victims’ families.
God bless you.
