Then, when you look at who has been promoting AI and the unquestioning acceptance of its arrival and benefits (on the part of we the sheep), my skepticism becomes even more profound.
Have any of you read a thoughtful article of the detriments, negative side of AI? A well thought-out commentary would be very helpful.

Yesterday I was completing an expense report for my job. We use an online system that seems to use a bit of AI.
Two separate hotels had invoices that only differed by pennies. It confused the almighty AI, which automatically fills in some data and triggered a whole bunch of alerts that prevented me from moving forward.
The company expert was out so I didn’t have anyone to ask about it. I finally removed the two hotels to save for my next report and moved on. AI is just wonderful
I use Chat Gpt 100 times a day at least. I ask it questions and make up my own mind regarding the answers. It’s basically a search tool for the internet. Instead of me scanning a million sites it can do the calculations in an second. But some of the answers can be little screwy or vague so you have to think for yourself.
I use Grok multiple times a day. I’ve been using it the past couple of days for Kentucky Derby handicapping strategies. It has literally cut hours from the process already. I’ll let you know if it pays off next Saturday.
so am/was I... but!... I am finding Copilot and Grok are answering questions on nonpolitical things surprisingly well. I also find interest in the way it explains the context in which the search term was/being used.
So far, using the number of Fake pictures out there as a reference, so far, I am not seeing/reading anything to put a notch on the downside column...
Grok very helpful with medical issues.
We use AI at work quite a bit (Startup Technology company)
AI can be very focused and remarkable, but limited to it’s narrow subject matter. Or it can be quite broad but limited in depth.
For the most part, I use it as a very upgraded search engine. I still fact check, but I get to what I need to verify much quicker.

AI is a fraud.
I use several AI’s depending on my need. For program development in python, scripting dialogue or Writing stories I use claude.ai . I pay a subscription to claude.ai but there’s a free service available. I use different ai’s for music and song development, another for still picture development, and another for video development.. I see AI as a creativity enhancer , much as CNC machines enhance your metalworking skills. I have just seen an article about an ai to help go from still pictures to 3d mesh models. Always more to learn. None at magnus robot fighter level yet.
AI will evolve into a corrupted tool, no different than mankind. Everything mankind gets ahold of gets corrupted.
I’m waiting for a Russian English-Language of AI, so at least I can get non-woke answers to politically-charged questions. Obviously, if the questions relate to Russia in some way, those answers would have to be treated with suspicion...but the wokeness of American AI infests virtually EVERYTHING I’m interested in.
That same AI may speed up the development of a life-saving medical technology by a factor of 10.
Our first "astronaut" to Mars will probably be AI, and the AI will report its observations back to fit its audience. Those reports are going to be amazing.
AI is just a tool - a force-multiplier for the human mind.

I suspect that’s because it’s pre-scanned the million sites and produced summaries that it scans when you make queries.
Compute power, storage, communications speed — it’s all cheap as dirt. Result: AI.
We’re actually working on a policy at my company related to AI now. A lot of people don’t realize that if you upload anything to have AI summarize or help you with it that the data is then retained by the large language models forever and you have no control over it anymore.
Intellectual property, financial information, s/w design, procedures, you name it people are uploading it into the wild not thinking about this stuff.
We plan to only white list limited inhouse AI tools and only allow informational requests from the model that is anonymized, but even then the tools can look at IP addresses and geography so you still have to be careful what you ask the model or the big data companies might be able to put 2+2 together....oooh this IP address belonging to this guy that works at such and such company just asked about how to conduct a recall....hmmmm bet they are getting ready to announce something...
It’s going to get ugly before people realize what they are doing and pull back hard.
Better hope it's not having one of its...what do they call them again?...hallucinating moments, when that occurs. Hallucinating...
I think I'll try that the next time I get pulled over for speeding...

I have an obscure genetic disorder with very little studies. Grok found them and analyzed and applied in less than a minute. I don’t care how it does it. Faster than what I could do . Also analyzes medical imaging for you
I have found the quality of response is somewhat dependent on quality of question.
Soon, regarding invoices, one will have only a machine to discuss the invoice with.
Soon one will enter a doctor’s office and AI will be your physician.
