The Federal Housing and Finance Agency has released a public statement highlighting an internal review and investigation of conduct within Fannie Mae that has resulted in the termination of over 100 employees for “unethical conduct” including the “facilitation of fraud.”
If the FHMA is finding intentional fraud within the housing loan offices, those federal employees should be arrested and legally prosecuted for their conduct. It is not enough to just fire people, there has to be legal accountability. These are the government regulators for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
Washington, D.C. — Today, the U.S. Federal Housing Finance Agency (U.S. Federal Housing FHFA) and Fannie Mae issued the following statement:
“In President Trump’s housing market, there is no room for fraud, mortgage fraud, or any other deceitful act that can jeopardize the safety and soundness of the housing industry,” said William J. Pulte, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fannie Mae. “Since my swearing-in, we fired over 100 employees from Fannie Mae who we caught engaging in unethical conduct, including facilitating fraud, against our great company. Anyone who commits fraud against Fannie Mae does so against the American people.”
“I would like to thank Director Pulte for his empowering of Fannie Mae to root out unethical conduct, including anyone facilitating fraud. We hold our employees to the highest standards, and we will continue to do so,” said Priscilla Almodovar, President and Chief Executive Officer of Fannie Mae. [SOURCE]
I detect a little CYA action.
“ I detect a little CYA action.”

Perhaps I’m missing something but why would firing people who were engaging in fraud be a CYA action?
Why was the fraud not detected until, very conveniently, now?

Perhaps because Trump wasn’t yet in office?
Around here, spanish speakers doing daycare, landscaping, roofing & other contracting businesses loom large.
The tell: They speak very little English, have newer homes (more expensive than my own) and drive new/newer vehicles.
The only way that could be accomplished is via some fraud mechanism.
And, to be clear, this is in a [very blue] state where I personally know contractors to have left for other states due to the high licensing and burdensome regulatory landscape, as well as others who have been denied SBA assistance...all while mexicans seem to be thriving.
I’d sure like to know the mechanism behind what appears to be reverse discrimination wrapped in a blanket of fraud...
So they suddenly discovered that ONE HUNDRED employees were engaged in fraud because Trump took office?
Would they have suddenly discovered that ONE HUNDRED employees were engaged in fraud had Kamala taken office?
Sounds like CYA to me.
Pam Bondi is not the Director of the United States Federal Housing Finance Agency (U.S. Federal Housing), William J. Pulte is. Mr. Pulte was appointed to head the Agency by President Trump. Pulte was sworn in on March 14, 2025 so he’s moving VERY quickly.
So they suddenly discovered that ONE HUNDRED employees were engaged in fraud because Trump took office? YES.
Would they have suddenly discovered that ONE HUNDRED employees were engaged in fraud had Kamala taken office? NO, it would be ignored.
Your “argument” makes no sense.
The Federal Housing and Finance Agency has released a public statement highlighting an internal review and investigation of conduct within Fannie Mae that has resulted in the termination of over 100 employees for “unethical conduct” including the “facilitation of fraud.”
The phrase "internal review" indicates that the fraud was discovered by the Federal Housing Administration, not DOGE.
They knew DOGE would uncover it so they preempted DOGE to cover their hind ends.
Please, tell me what part of my "argument" does not make sense.
Wasn’t me. Nuh uh.
This is an excellent example of what Attorney General Pam Bondi should be focused on instead of her appearances on Fox News
No. Just no.
Pam Bondi's job is to oversee investigations as requested by cabinet Secretaries when referred to her office. She would then request the FBI to further investigate and and build a solid court case.
Each department is responsible for finding any fraud, and taking action. And, when appropriate, referring the case or cases to the Department of Justice for possible criminal action.
When do we get the demographics on the exactly 100 people?
Fired? Now prosecute.
She has some tan lines.
I thought Fanny & Freddie were busted years ago for this type of !@#$%^&*...
So...
Where are the arrests? The perp walks?
The public display?
Firing is too good for them. Prosecution and conviction are the required remedy.
What proof do we have that ANYONE was fired.
Seriously. No frog march, no charges filed, -NOTHING.
I am willing to be NO ONE was fired and this is all for show. Sadly.
WHY aren’t they ARRESTED????
