“How Do They Get $20 Million?”: Elon Vows DOGE Investigation of “Strangely Wealthy” Democrats Suspected of “Massive Amount of Corruption”

Speaking during a town hall in Wisconsin in which he explained what his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is doing to combat waste and fraud in the federal budget, DOGE head Elon Musk vowed that his department will launch an investigation into how so many Democrats amassed huge personal fortunes on the $200,000 or so they earn a year.

As background, many on the right, including Elon, have suggested that Democrat and Republican Swamp Creatures use insider trading to amass massive fortunes, though Elon has also said that there are various other forms of corruption DOGE has found the Swamp engaging in. So, the comments Elon made during the Sunday, March 30 town hall in Wisconsin appeared to be based on pre-existing discoveries that have led him to suspect serious corruption will be found by the investigation.

Elon’s comments on the matter came when a member of the town hall crowd asked him if DOGE had discovered any direct “evidence” of money sent to “radical left Democrats” by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). When asking that question, the audience member named Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) and Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA), along with Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-CA), as suspected recipients of the corrupt cash.

Responding, Elon once again noted the massive problem of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and how they are used to aid and abet fraud in the Swamp, as the government will fund the organizations to do things it cannot do, and much of that money, as with Sen. Whitehouse and his wife, ends up in the pockets of corrupt lawmakers and their family members.

Making those comments about the “massive amount of corruption” DOGE has discovered and how it is related to the NGO issue, Elon said, “Yeah. So there is a massive amount of corruption. But it is circuitous. So what happens is there’s money that, obviously, it’s your taxpayer money that is then sent to various government organizations who then send it to NGOs, an NGO is a non-governmental organization, but obviously, if it’s a government-funded non-governmental organization, it’s just an organization. It’s just a government.”

Continuing, Elon explained that there is a “gigantic fraud loophole” that the aforementioned NGOs take advantage of. He explained, “And effectively, there’s a giant fraud loophole, which is that the government can send money to an NGO that is then no longer governed by the laws of the United States.”

Building on that and explaining how it works, Elon noted that the money will, after traveling through the fraud loophole, end up back in the pockets of corrupt lawmakers. He said, “So they’ll send the money overseas to one NGO, then they’ll go through a bunch of them, and then I’m highly confident that a bunch of that money then comes back to the United States and lands in the pockets of the people you just mentioned.”

That is when he commented on how numerous Swamp lawmakers have amassed massive fortunes despite earning relatively paltry salaries. Doing so, he noted, “But it is a circuitous route. It doesn’t go directly, but let’s just say that there’s a lot of strangely wealthy members of Congress where I’m trying to connect the dots of how do they become rich while earning… How do they get $20 million if they’re earning $200,000 a year? It sounds… Nobody can explain that. So something’s… Yeah, we’re going to try to figure it out and certainly stop it from happening.”

How do they get the money? is is skimmed from their campaign contributions...

Just pure graft from supporting bills going directly into their bank accounts?

Gifts of stock from companies or telling them insider trading information?

to buy stocks they have to have some money to put into the purchase or they can’t buy them?

And just like that, Democrat voters will now be in favor of corruption among Democrat politicians. The legacy media will tout such corruption as a virtue.

It's not just the dems, a bunch of our reps are also in on the big scam.

Who actually fool enough to believe this only a Democrat problem? Just about every Republican up there is doing the very same thing.

Something else DOGE ought to be looking into is the ongoing funding for the ISS. The ISS is approximately 27 years old and after hosting many astronaut scientists is might be time to consider ending or winding down funding for this project.

The United States contributes significantly to the maintenance and operation of the International Space Station (ISS). The total cost of the ISS, including development, assembly, and running costs over 10 years, comes to approximately $160 billion, with the United States providing nearly $100 billion of that amount.

The annual operating cost for the U.S. is estimated to be between $3 billion and $4 billion.

Just as in weapons research much can be done with smaller, unmanned autonomous drones, and it's conceivable that the science of outer-space could be continued with a far small economic footprint in the future.

I love this. Those investigating will need to keep their heads low. There will be pushback. The corrupt need to be outed.

In contrast, I’m reminded of the late great Senator Tom Coburn. He slept in his office every night, and he went back home to Oklahoma every weekend and provided free surgical care to his constituents. The Senate subsequently outlawed that, saying that it was bribery or something. Unbelievable.

How did Nancy Pelosi amass $250,000,000.00?

The Cantillon Effect describes the uneven distribution of newly created money within an economy. When central banks print money, it doesn’t immediately circulate evenly throughout the system.

Instead, the first recipients of this new money – typically banks, financial institutions, and well-connected individuals – benefit from increased purchasing power before the money trickles down to the rest of the population.

By the time the newly printed money reaches the average consumer, prices for goods and services may have already increased, effectively reducing the purchasing power of those at the bottom of the economic ladder.

Yes, we need to instead give that money to Musk to go to Mars for no productive or practical reason...

I think both ideas need to be put to rest. We have much more important practical priorities.

I agree. Party blindness is important or else it is hypocrisy.

The insider trading is from being aware of government contracts BEFORE they are announced. The other form of insider trading is being informed on rules and laws that are about to be announced.

The final kind is just being immersed in the minutiae of a specific industry. You get used to the rhythms and players.

The first two are illegal. The last one isn’t.

You’re right.

They all come to DC with modest professional incomes in 6 figures. After that 6 figures would be the annual interest earned on any one of their twenty investments and offshore bank accounts thanks to favors and obligations to syndicates and “friends” from foreign countries.

Laundering bribes through “bestseller” books and other scams helps keep the secrets.

They know things we don’t and use that information to profit from the stock market. If we did that we’d be in jail for insider trading.
