Prior to the 2024 election, President Biden issued Executive Order 14019. This order authorized the use of tax money to fund Democrat voter registration efforts. Using government revenue to support partisan voter registration drives is illegal.
Now, House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil (R-Wisc) is demanding that the 14 federal agencies that participated in the implementation of this corrupt scheme turn over the documents and records detailing how they carried it out. Among the agencies involved were the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the Small Business Administration (SBA), the Department of Education, and the Department of Justice.
The laws violated include the Anti-Deficiency Act, which explicitly bars federal agencies from spending funds on unauthorized activities--like helping an effort to increase the number voters of one Party and the Hatch Act, which prohibits federal employees from engaging in partisan political activities while on duty. Yet, Order 14019 directed government workers to register and mobilize voters for the Democrat Party. The Biden administration refused to honor oversight requests from Congress in both 2023 and 2024.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), pointed out that "Steil's accusation overlooks the fact that there is ample precedent for what President Biden was trying to accomplish. Two of this nation's greatest presidents--FDR and Barrack Obama--took similar steps to increase voter participation. Steil's scheme is just another attempt by Republicans to try to suppress voter access to the ballot."
Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY) added "we are organizing protesters to attend Republican town halls to drown out their lies with the truth. Once these MAGA enemies of democracy learn that our freedom of speech will stifle theirs we will win back the voters who have been turned against us by the blizzard of misinformation that enabled them to win the 2024 elections."
The flood of corruption is neck deep, it is going to be yeomans work to drain the swamp.
I see another stern letter coming.
From Trump???
I don't think letters are his style. This is ultimately his responsibility. It's so brazen, it's like something out of a cartoon. It violates so many laws, and reeks so bad. . .
My guess is there are enough felonies--Federal and state--in enough jurisdictions (some of which will be quite interested) to put a lot of Democratic politicians, operatives, and their lawyers in prison for quite a stretch.
And as a news story, I think even the NYT will give it some ink--in the second section of a daily edition, anyway.
While you're waiting for your stern letter, I'd take a minute to buy some popcorn. This could be epic.
With Chuckie leading the Charge on this !
A very Stern Letter.
That last line by Chuck Schumer is downright chilling.
