X ^ | 02/05/25 | Mario Nawfal

Government waste at its finest—37 FDA employees got Politico Pro subscriptions costing taxpayers over half a million dollars!

Why is the Food & Drug Administration spending big pharma money on political news? Someone at HHS is living large on your dime.

Is that the same Politico that’s having trouble meeting payroll?

Seems like they’re meeting payroll just fine...if you’re in the right circle.

While all the “Republicans” went golfing, this is how the Left uses our money to subsidize itself.

Two weeks folks. The whole g-d disgusting corrupt husk is being exposed.

That is more like a payroll donation hidden as “subscriptions” . Bet there are a BUNCH of orgs that do this. Sunlight is the best disinfectant.

Will someone kill the word "drop" and bury it?

Does the headline mean they spent the money or that they have now ended the subscriptions and are no longer spending the money, which could be why Politico is having trouble making payroll.

“Sooo, about $14,000 per person?”

Does a dump truck pull up at each of the 37 subscribers’ houses. every day, and dump a full load of newspapers on their drive way?

Did this deal happen for bureaucrats in other agencies besides the FDA? How big of a taxpayer donation is Politico getting? Are other left wing sites reaping a similar windfall? Can’t wait to hear.

This reminds me of a great Nero Wolfe murder mystery (by Rex Stout).

A bad guy (but not the murderer, so this is not a spoiler) was running a large scale blackmail operation. This kingpin had his victims submit payment by requiring an extremely over-priced one-year subscription to one of several available specialty newsletters: horse race tips, financial news, world events coverage, etc. The hack hired to create the content got a generous but fixed paycheck, and had no idea that he was providing a way to disguise blackmail payoffs.

Buying good press? Kickbacks? Making it look like they have more subscribers than they do? Same as the New York Times and Washington Post? Where the old ABC of distribution?

No wonder these people are attacking Musk - he’ taking away their fun/CORRUPT playground.

And Musk? FEWER THAN A THOUSAND PEOPLE IN DC ARE ‘ELECTED’ BY THE PEOPLE. AND THAT INCLUDES THE DOGCATCHER. Musk is doing a job for the Government = like almost everyone else in the DC region .

The way it’s done with liberal political books is the publisher is paid extra for ‘NOT’ printing the books so the obvious lie doesn’t show up on secondary markets.

Do you know those 80,000 IRS investigators…. Redirected to investigating government employees and what the government employees are charging to the federal of government that should be personal expenses.
