Being a native Californian with great love for the state, I’ve been wanting to weigh in on the heartbreaking Los Angeles fire tragedy since almost the beginning, but at first I didn’t know what to say. Yesterday I worked on a video that highlighted an excellent post titled Why Los Angeles Is Burning.
I never did get the video out (multiple issues), and at some point a number of videos were out there essentially dealing with the same points, so I let the project alone.
The above article stands by itself, and brings up some eye-opening facts about how political failures contributed mightily to the ongoing apocalyptic destruction we are witnessing. This in itself is finally shocking many residents of Los Angeles of the Golden State–even some celebrities–-into acknowledging the harsh reality of the choices they’ve made for “leaders.”
I urge anyone who wants to change your future for the better to read and consider the article. Otherwise “Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”
But that is not the biggest reason I am writing today. I was pondering what I might be able to say to the person who has perhaps lost everything. I don’t know what I or anyone can say. At a certain point, when we have lost everything except our LIVES and hopefully our loved ones, perhaps only then can some of us begin to truly appreciate the life that God has given us. Surely it has worth far beyond our material possessions...

Californians voted for Democrats so they got Democrats and they’re getting it good and hard. Like pigeons Californians can live in the nest of bird crap they made for themselves.
Six million of them voted for Donald Trump.
Not nearly enough.
Good point. I could certainly see that.
Perhaps, but the difference here is that the celebrities/ Harris voters in Palisades, Malibu were directly affected in this case, and the culpability of the Democrat leadership was more obvious. Yes, people don’t tend to change overall, but some have already gotten the wakeup call.
Good points, eloquently stated, Carry. Thanks.
Yup, I just said much the same.
Yes, it would require a sea change!
Agreed!
Thanks. There is a fix, and it starts in the Hebrew Torah, but not as comonly understood for historical reasons. The church Christ founded has been betrayed by the ignorance of the founding leaders upon which it stands.
Insulting California voters is totally wrong, but I think they are being out-cheated. The last time their opinion counted, Gray Davis was recalled and replaced with Arnold Schwarzenegger. California Democrats - appalled that their collectivist world view could so easily be swept aside by celebrity and wealth (foreshadowing Trump's victory in 2026 and the response to it) - immediately went into overdrive. They perfected election fraud mechanisms and put massive media pressure on the waffling actor to re-orient his views to align with theirs. Schwarzenegger saw his acting career on the verge of destruction and crumbled. Trump didn't, and paid the price in 2020.
I'm not sure California can be saved - other than being put under direct Federal control for a time.
Really? You mean the people that once lived in 2-3 million dollar houses surrounded by new luxury vehicles ( some burned some not ) on the coast of CA have nothing else, no other assets, to fall back on? Please lets get some perspective.
