New Orleans – A lawsuit will be filed against the City of New Orleans and New Orleans Police Department for negligence leading to the Bourbon Street terrorist attack on Jan. 1, 2025 according to WDSU.

Maples and Connick says they will file a lawsuit on January 8th for failure to implement basic safety precautions for citizens and visitors, paving the way for the attack on New Year’s Day.

According to the firm, the evidence will demonstrate that the attack was foreseeable and preventable, and the suspect exploited police negligence, which left 14 people dead and dozens of others injured.

Normally, I'd say something against money-hungry ambulance chasing lawyers, but this time I think they are correct.

Police departments have gone all DEI crazy and instead of enforcing the law and doing their jobs, they pat themselves on the back for the number of "diverse and inclusive" idiots they hire.

The security bollards should have been in place. Even the idiots should have known this.

They need to file against the mayor, city council and especially the DEI Initiative in HR.

Didn’t I read where the lovely DIE mayor (LaToya) didn’t know traffic security barriers were nowhere to be found?

Sadly true. Just want to add that it now means our enemies within the borders and outside are constantly probing for vulnerabilities. Attacker came from out of state.

That is the DEI 65 year old female NOPD Police Chief that teaches DEI at the FBI Academy.

They’ll be waiting at the end of a very long line. It’s well known that the City of New Orleans doesn’t pay judgments.

Just like the attempts to assassinate Trump, this is once again, another case of “weaponized incompetence” where you get people killed, then act completely stupid and get away with negligent homicide. It always is done with the DEI excuse.

The FBI Academy?

Was this the same Academy a DIE FBI agent attended that just said this was not a terrorist attack?

I read the other day where CAIR was telling muzzies not to speak to the FBI as they investigated this “non terrorist” attack.

At first I thought “Figures. Muslims covering for Muslims.”

Then I realized what great advice that is. Even you and I should never talk to the FIB’s.

Is it now expected that any area where at least 15 pedestrians can be killed by a car must have bollards surrounding it, else there’s liability?

Parking lots for stadiums, parks and beaches? Most streets in any city?

Yes this causes me concern about a lawsuit of this nature.

Are we saying that cities, stadiums ,and other gathering places, must anticipate every conceivable type of terrorist attack, and defend against it, otherwise they are liable for the terrorist attack?

Gonna be a slam dunk against the entire city government, not just the police. Saw a report on CBS where they committed an actual act of journalism with an investigative expose which showed there have been long standing issues with the security bollards all the way back to 2017 - the city knew about it but did nothing. Just let it slide.

She’s a disaster. She was formerly chiefette in Oakland, Ca., and we all know what a law and order kinda town that is. She was just recently hired by New Orleans, probably less than six months ago. Her demeanor also sucks, She should be fired immediately.

New Orleans may have been negligent. They had the equipment so they recognized the threat. They apparently left them in a warehouse and/or didn’t install or maintain them correctly. The owner of the company that makes them said he made numerous attempts to contact city officials about correcting the problems but he was ignored.

She looks so goofy in her oversized police cap. It would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic.

Louisiana tort law is different from American tort law. The case may actually be easier to prove under Louisiana tort analysis.

After being accused of diverting levee funds to other water projects and then Katrina happened, I'd have thought that New Orleans would become more proactive when it comes to funding public safety projects.

On Fox News last night, longtime New Orleans area resident Tyrus (George Murdoch) suggested that instead of getting the street bollards upgraded over the summer in advance of New Year's Eve, the mayor deferred it closer to the Super Bowl to get them to pay for it.

I’ve long assumed that most NOLA police officers are street thug criminals in uniform.
