True prosperity makes a sound, and that sound is the wailing and lamentations of tycoons whining about labor shortages.

It’s my first disappointment in Musk. He is after all an immigrant so I get it.
The USA already has the WORLDS most liberal policy. A million a year I think. We don’t have to increase it at all.
All we need to do is go back to a truly merit based system. Drop the stupid refugee system, drop the even more stupid, moronic birthright citizenship program. Instead Let in the healthy, skilled ,educated and talented people in up to a million.
That’s more than enough.
The link leads to a digital Rubik’s cube
Anybody solve it yet?
Ohh I forgot and worst of all drop the crazy ,lottery system!
Immigration policy would be better served if it was left up to a referendum of legal citizen voters instead of elected officials that are too often in the bag of corporate interests or NGOs.
How abut we give him none & sat we gave him all that he wanted. Sounds good to me.
I wonder if the complaints about Americans not having the education for the IT jobs is actually more a wish for cheaper labor...
If I had his money and land I probably wouldn’t care as much about immigration flooding us either.
This comment got me to thinking. Up to a million you say? Then we'd better get busy issuing a lot more H1B visas.
Link.
I must say I'm suprised at how few visas there are. So why is this issue even an issue at all? Answer: Media Manipulation.
This more of the Deep State/MSM op to sew division among us. They see the H1 firestorm is dying and they very much want to keep it alive.
Right.
We are literally giving thousands of slots to ignorant, old/sick, deadbeats. Or completely undeserving people.
55,000 a year in a LOTTERY. Based on ZERO merit.
I agree increase H1B vistas but cut way back on the undeserving. Personally I say reduce the million but by no means use this as an excuse to increase it.
“ Although there are roughly a million immigrant visas issued each year and hundreds of thousands of nonimmigrant visas, the immigration cap system has resulted in long wait times for those attempting to come to the U.S.”

You’re a troll. Biden let in 10x the niminal limit.
Why are you lying through your teeth in the favor of chesp foreigners?
Are you a dot, or do you run an H1-B body shop, or are you just a greedy, incompetent manager?
I’m pretty sure that most senior level IT professionals in America got hundreds of rejections when they applied for jobs in 2024. When people are advocating in favor of continuing the H1B program I don’t know of a single instance where they are being sincerely honest. If they don’t know what they are talking about then they ought to say “I don’t know all the facts” instead of just spinning it like they do. The biggest issues I have with the H1B program are this:
1. It creates a class of Indentured Servants in America and that IMO should be a violation of the 13th Amendment. Nobody in America should be required to have to beg permission of their current employer in order to go get a different job in order to stay in America. It’s abhorrent that this abuse of people is allowed.
2. It greatly suppresses the salaries of American workers.
3. It creates a lot of extra paperwork for all IT workers with experience in America as the games that recruiters & others in the process for getting H1B(s) approved creates a lot of additional noise & busywork as the jobs intended for H1B candidates are purposely concealed as being such, but employers put a lot of Americans through the process just so they can reject them.
4. These process games are so dishonest and misleading.
5. American workers get passed over for internal tasks/activities oftentimes because employers would rather have the indentured servants assigned to do them because they are captive as they have to leave the country if they say NO. This hurts the development of careers for American workers.
6. Sex scandals? I don’t have any evidence on this. But let’s be realistic that if we have an IT Director named Harvee Whine Sting or Billy Klin Tunn who likes pretty H1B girls that he’s going to make sure they are doing whatever he thinks is necessary for them to be able to stay in the country. If he tries this on American workers he’ll end up in Jail, Court, and Prison. With an indentured servant they could get deported and he’ll move on to other victims.
7. I’m no fan of us having lots of “temporary residents” because if we have in place the option for good honest people to stay here permanently then they’ll act more like owners than tenants in America and become part of the solutions for making America better. We’ll see lower crime rates, lower insurance rates, more compliance with laws/ordinances, more homeowners, more investors, and more involved participants in schools, community, and everything. The “temporary residents” program benefits those who want to have an elite class of power hungry politicians better able to rule over the population. I’m a big fan of us doing very strong vetting of visitors/migrants to ensure that we keep out the criminals. And I’m an especially big fan of making the process of naturalization much harder than the process of immigration as we want to make sure that everyone who is an American citizen really intends to be a good American citizen.
Take your TDS crap to the DUmp.
All I did was link to actual numbers. I made no comments on if more or less should be let in.
Trump sides with Musk on the issue of H1B visas. If you got a problem with Trump then say so.
You lied about the numbers.
So are you a dot-not-feather, or do you just help ship them in, troll?

People whine about ‘who will pick the vegetables’
Those are H2-A
Categories of non-immigrant visas:

As far as tech companies go - looks like they could get around the H1-B issue just by hiring the person in a foreign location for a year and transferring them to the US on an L Visa.
We Americans are being colonized and dispossessed and you are still ok with a million “legal” immigrants a year. You have already surrendered.
