The woman killed after being set ablaze by an illegal alien on a New York City subway has finally been identified.
The burn victim was identified as 61-year-old Debrina Kawam.
Kawam was linked to an address in Toms River, New Jersey, but she was described as homeless.
It took investigators more than a week to identify the victim using fingerprints because her burns were so severe.
The New York Post reported:
Cops have identified the woman who was lit on fire as she slept and then burned to death on a Brooklyn subway train while terrified straphangers watched in horror, law enforcement sources said Tuesday.
Debrina Kawam, 61, was identified using fingerprints.
Kawam, who had a listed address of Toms River, New Jersey, was sleeping on an F train at the Stillwell Avenue-Coney Island station in Brooklyn around 7:30 a.m. Dec. 22 when she was set on fire. Illegal Guatemalan immigrant Sebastian Zapeta-Calil is facing first-degree murder charges in the sick attack.
Horrifying video footage shows the accused killer fanning the flames as the woman burned — and calmly watching the scorched victim from a bench on the platform.
A source told The Post she was alive when she was set on fire, with a walker and several bags nearby.
The city medical examiner struggled to identify the body because it was so severely burned in the attack, sources previously said.
The Guatemalan who burned Kawam to death on a New York City subway is an illegal alien who was previously deported by the Trump Administration in June 2018.

I am actually very surprised that final sentence was ever published.
I am not surprised at all that sentence is true.
I wonder why no one stopped to help. hmmm.....
/sarcasm
The corrupt who’ve hijacked government, roll out the red carpet for millions of illegals...And this one picks out some unsuspecting innocent victim to burn to death and it turns out to be a homeless American.
This country is eff’d up bad.
I wonder what kind of name Kawam is. I’ve never heard that before. Sounds like it could be African, but, the victim was White, based on the picture.
Yes, things are eff’d up alright. There was just another subway incident in New York today with a guy getting shoved in front of a train. He’s still fighting for his life, last I checked.
Biden has a lot to answer for #_@#. And why is Luigi Mangione purported to be up for the death penalty but Laken Rileys killer gets imprisoned with tax payer money and this Guatemalan with probably the same fate. Their lives don’t matter as much as the CEOs does??

The dates in that “high school photo” do not match up with the victim’s age (61).
A 61-year-old would’ve been 21 or 22 years old in 1985.
Has the hero, first responder cop, who didn’t respond, but stood by the doorway and watched her burn, then walked away, been identified yet?
Has he been promoted? Has he received his hero award yet?
Because lots of people in NY city would happily supply the matches... Yeah, I'm not crazy about 'em.
Yes, you’re right re: her age vs. yearbook foto. There are other images of “Debrina Kawam” as a black female. Very odd. Speaking of images, have you seen the images of a uniformed NYPD officer casually strolling by on the platform as the woman is clearly burning to death?
Brit paper are saying she was 56, which fits the timeline of her senior photo.
Who ever she was, it’s a sad reflection on our society..one,that we allow animals to roam free, and secondly, she wasn’t in a shelter or rehab etc...we just let people destroy themselves,
I hope to never be as numb as those folks involved in that incident. It was unreal to see
1985 yearbook and 61 years old don’t make sense. If she was a senior in 1985, she’d be 57-58 years old.
Here’s an interview with some neighbors from her last known address in New Jersey. They all exhibited surprise that she was living on the streets and indicated that she didn’t appear unkempt, etc. the last time they saw her.

Yes, I saw the video. Horrible. I keep wondering, why didn't someone try to put out the flames with a coat? Or does that only work in the movies?
